Mini Egg Tarts aka Daan Tat 酥⽪蛋撻仔 are more of a modern Chinese invention, but they've still been around since the 20th Century 🐣 Many assume they were inspired by the Portugese 'Pastel de Nata', but its actually said to have been created during the wave of English businessmen going to China in the 1920s and their love for British custard tarts.
