Grauburgunder (also known as Pinot Gris) is the ideal pairing for spicy, sticky chargrilled chicken skewers. The lively acidity of this wine cuts through the heat from the glaze of the chicken! 🍋‍🟩🍏

Citrus marinated prawns go great with this grape variety too, with the wine’s zestiness complementing the sweetness of the prawns 🍤

There are around 24,410 hectares of Riesling plantings in the country, and about 40% of all the Riesling in the world is grown in German vineyards 🌍

In honour of , this month’s is Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt. It produces a wide variety of wines – and you can try its 2020 Riesling from Co-op.

Though the has existed for over 650 years, it was purchased by winemaker Gūnther Reh in 1978. His daughter, the late Annegret Reh-Gartner, quickly developed a passion for wine and acted as a fierce champion of German Riesling worldwide.

Why not take some inspiration from Annegret this July and try a new style of Riesling?

Welcome back to ! This month we’re taking a look at Weingut Leitz’s The Boar Riesling – a delightfully crisp with flavours of lemon, lime and green apple 🍏🍋

The label fittingly displays two wild boars roaming the producer’s vineyards, where they enjoy feasting on grapes perfectly ripened on south-facing slopes! If you look closely, you can also spot the boar’s tusks and ears in the “O” of “boar” 🍇🐗

This region has been producing wine since Roman times, and in fact Mosel producer Staffelter Hof Winery, Distillery & Guesthouse since A.D. 862 is one of the oldest wineries in the world!

The Riesling from this region is known for being mineral-rich and balanced – look out for one on your next shopping trip.

Welcome back to ! This month we’re highlighting one of the producers who recently exhibited at The Big G Trade Tasting, Weingut Martin Waßmer.

The Waßmer family began producing wines in in 1997, focusing on nature-led cultivation which has a low impact on the .

This aims to produce truly Burgundian-style wines in , planting at high density and hand-harvesting low yields.

Happy ! Grapes are one of the Earth’s greatest gifts, and organic viticulture is just one of the ways winemakers are working to safeguard the planet.

This month’s is Weingut Egon Müller. Based in the Mosel, Egon makes wines from estate-grown grapes. Each of his plots is unique – and yields wines that are robust and full of intense minerality. Egon focuses on growing all his vines organically, and believes that the time and effort that goes into the process adds another level to his wines.

One of our favourites is Sager + Wilde Hackney Road - this wine bar oozes cool.

Its wine list is expansive and features some fabulous German offerings from Katla Wines, Wein Goutte, and more as the list is ever-changing.
