I really like this. Shame does not help anyone make positive, long lasting change that is value based.

Just a little thought on weight in the New Year. Often a New Year can make people feel shame for not being ‘other’. When they are perfect as they are or have all the right to self-compassion if 2022 was difficult. Never let shame inform decisions and direction in your life. 🧡

BBC - Information and Support - Mother's Day 27/03/2022

Mother's day can be wonderful and difficult for mum's and children. For those who can't have children, have lost children/mothers, who don't get along or who's children or mothers are struggling or perhaps behaving in ways that make it challenging to be with them.

We hear you, we see you and hope you can look after yourselves today.

A few pointers:
- it's OK to do what you need today
- seek support from friends or other family
- do something you could find some peace, joy, calm or pleasure from no matter how small eg gardening, walks, baking, reading.
- try to be kind to yourself, you are doing your best
- seek support from various charities out there, links below.

So much this....I often find myself saying "I am OK and...."

Maturity involves recognizing that it common to feel conflicting or contradictory emotions, needs, and aspects of ourselves that may both be true.
For example we might have our needs for closeness and our needs for space. Or we may sometimes love and be angry at the same person.
Often, I say the trauma work is world work…the more that we accept these dichotomies in ourselves, the better we will be at handling differences and conflicts with others. Doesn’t our world need more of this?
I love how Venn diagrams offer simple reminders and thanks to present psychologist we have some lovely examples here…
