Happy Ada Lovelace Day!

This week we celebrate Ada Lovelace, the world’s first computer programmer and pioneering female mathematician. Her contribution to technology is still felt today, so much so that we named our Research Management System (RMS) ADA in recognition of her great achievements, and in celebration of her being a leader in her field.

In her lifetime she:

✅ Collaborated on an analytical machine (an early computer)
✅ Was the first to recognise a machine had applications beyond pure calculation
✅ Wrote the first algorithm intended to be carried out by such a machine

We're delighted to be a part of the GAIN (Girls Are Investors) Investment Internship Programme!

GAIN is an organisation on a mission to inspire women to enter the investment industry. Their internship programme is open to female and non-binary students across the UK who aspire to have a career in investment management.

As an intern, you'll be given the opportunity to learn about the investment management industry as a whole as well as the specific company you join. You'll partake in a training programme ahead of the internship to help you prepare and also be allocated a mentor from the GAIN network to provide additional support.
