Latisha

Today is #InternationalYouthDay, a day which brings awareness to youth issues and celebrates the potential of youth as partners in today’s global society.

Through our Twinning work, we help young people in developing countries with person-to-person support.

We supported Latisha with financial aid which enabled her to pursue the college education she'd hoped for. Inspired by the kindness of the SSVP, Latisha now gives back to her community in Grenada, supporting young people with their schoolwork and visiting people struggling with sickness.

Our free-of-charge SVP bereavement café in Droitwich offers a safe place for bereaved people to come together monthly and gain vital support. The initiative was set up by volunteer members of our Sacred Heart Conference to help tackle loneliness and isolation in their community. During #BereavementAwarenessWeek, Conference President Gina Pilley was invited to speak to Wychavon Council staff about the project. Following the talk, a request was made for the SVP conference to open a second bereavement café in Evesham! The second bereavement project will offer a seven-week Bereavement Journey Course, as well as an opportunity for people to socialise and move forward in their lives. The first café session in Evesham will take place on Tuesday 23 July. Learn more about our community work today. https://svp.org.uk/
