In today's Friday FAQ our Head of Resourcing Solutions discusses the risk of using AI in your job applications:

❓ Q: "What are the disadvantages of using AI in your job application, is it detectable?"

💬 A: It can be detectable. AI generates responses from the information it’s previously been fed - which means it can only give you information based on what it’s previously collated.

If you copy and paste this information directly into your application it could be the exact same as somebody else’s, and employers do notice this. AI can be a really powerful tool, but I recommend you use the information generated by AI simply as a guide and rewrite the information it gives you in your own words.

❓ Q: "What if [the hiring manager] has answered all of your planned questions by the end of the interview?"

💬 A: "Even if you feel that they have answered most of the things they might not have covered everything. Think about asking them why they work there, what appealed to them to apply for the role, you can ask them what the onboarding process is. There are lots of things you can ask. It's really important to ask questions at the end."
