Videos by Melford Hall - National Trust in Long Melford. Melford Hall's story is one of survival against the odds and the people who have made it possible.
A couple of weeks ago, members of our team found a kestrel in a waterlogged trough. They took fast action to help and it was rescued by Stephanie Callister-Jarrold of Owls and Birds of Prey Rescue. Since then, we’ve been keeping a close eye on its progress.
Earlier this week, Stephanie returned to release the kestrel back into the landscape that surrounds Melford Hall. This was a heart warming moment for everyone here to see her back to health and flying over the parkland once again.
Thank you to all who continue to care for the nature and beauty that surrounds us here.

Tomorrow is known as #bluemonday as it comes after the festivities of Christmas and as the weather gets colder and gloomier, which can leave us feeling blue. Instead, make it #brewmonday and embrace the warmth of a hot drink and a chat with someone close to you, or head over to our nearby property Lavenham Guildhall from Thursday to Sunday, our team will be ready to welcome you with a friendly conversation. #wellbeing #mentalhealth #support
A visit from Jeremy Fisher! 🐸The garden here at Melford Hall is home to a wide variety of wildlife, which inspired Beatrix Potter who made many trips here and would happily sketch scenes of the Hall and greenhouses seen from across the large garden pond. Why not visit this weekend to enjoy the gardens and same views that inspired the famous collection of storybooks, including Jeremy Fisher! #beatrixpotter #suffolkdaysout
It’s #InternationalTeaDay2023! Tea was traditionally used for medicinal purposes. It took over 3000 years before it was drunk as a beverage. Since we reopened at the end of March, we have served 1,962 cups of tea! Spend an afternoon at Melford Hall and enjoy tea on the lawn! 🫖 #teatime #enjoysuffolk
