HR Advisor Job in Broadstairs £24-28k + benefits
This highly successful business manufactures, installs and maintains signage for the UKs largest retailers. In total they employ around 250 people, over 30% of whom are engineers working on the road throughout the UK. They are looking for an HR advisor, based out of their offices in Broadstairs, Kent. The role holder will be responsible for providing customer-focused HR service delivery across the entire employee lifecycle.
The HR advisor will provide advice, guidance and operational support to managers and employees on all aspects of the employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, development, and training. Ensuring all people policies are correctly implemented, employee relations are well managed and employee records are accurately maintained.
My client is looking for someone with a can-do attitude, that can take ownership and will hit the ground running. The HR advisor role might well suit candidates who are currently in senior HR admin roles who are looking for a development opportunity with scope for greater operational independence.
NATURE & SCOPE OF THE ROLE
Provide advice, guidance and operational support to managers and employees on all aspects of the employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, development, and training.
Co-ordinate and maintain accurate employee records including updates to new starters, leavers, personal information, employee relations matters, training and variations to employment terms.
Oversee and assist in employee relations cases including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances and absence management.
Contribute to ongoing Group policy development and HR improvement projects.
Produce monthly analytics and reports to assist in continuous improvement of HR management.
Collaborate with finance team to provide information and data required for processing payroll.
Co-ordinate communications and meetings to inform and consult with staff on employee benefits, training opportunities and change management proposals.
Communicate and co-ordinate activity with third-party HR service providers (e.g. recruitment agencies, training and benefits providers)
REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Attention to detail with good planning and organizational skills
Able to hit the ground running
Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
Proactive, flexible, with a 'can do’ attitude and hands-on approach
Professional, with integrity and respect for confidentiality
Sets high personal standards and acts as a role model to others
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience is essential
MSOffice suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Previous experience in an HR advisor or senior administrator role providing support to businesses of 100+ employees
Must have experience and confidence to work independently with access to remote support from third party experts
Experience working in a responsive HR Services environment would be desirable
ADVANTAGEOUS/BENEFICIAL TO HAVE
Expertise in payroll, employee pay and benefits or training
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE
Must be available and able to work onsite in a busy production and office environment
