A lot of the conversation around spiking has been how to avoid being spiked. Yes it is good to know how to avoid being spiked but have the discourse revolve around that puts to much responsibility on the victim. You should not have to think about whether someone is trying to drug you or assault you on a night out. We should be creating safer spaces and educating people on consent and respect not accepting the risk

CALLING ALL UOM STUDENTS! (sign the link below)

Please sign this open letter created by the student reps and PASS coordinators of UoM's geography department.

This open letter is calling for the university to acknowledge that the current policies in place are completely inadequate to support our studies, and that there needs to be a new support policy for students implemented.

What this "new support policy" could look like is up for discussion, but the discussion needs to start happening now.

This is the link. Please sign and share.

University Of Manchester students and those who care about them no longer have the confidence in the current Vice Chancellor, Dame Nancy Rothwell.

Whether it was the danger from Covid, the extortionate rents, or the racial profiling of black students on campus, her leadership has been inadequate.

We call upon her to resign her position.......................................
University of Manchester students and the wider Manchester community no longer have any confidence in Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell to look out for the interests of students, in particular black students that we know have been racially profiled on campus, as part of her role as the Vice-Chancellor.

We have all seen the video of Zac Adan and know that his experience is shared by many other black students on campus.

In addition to this, her push to bring students back onto campus, from across the university, only to fence them in when there was the obvious rise in COVID-19 cases clearly shows her desire to put the profits of the University before the health and mental well being of students and the wider Manchester community.
