I am currently recruiting on behalf of my client for a 1st Line support engineer at a company based in Bradford. They are #1 in their market and are growing by the day. They are looking for a candidate who has had exposure to IT before and is looking to learn and develop themselves into a strong IT Profession. Salary- £19,000-£22,000 depending on experience, all training provided Holidays- 24 days + BH Shift Pattern- 8-5 or 9-6 Mon-Friday (occassional weekends on call) + overtime available - private healthcare included. Salary £22-28k Dependent on experience
Mon - Fri (on-site in Bolton)
Commission - 10% on any deal uncapped no threshold

Today we had a very special visitor to the office, our MD's daughter, Italia. In the end Amber Powell had the magic touch and Italia is sound asleep.

To stand out in a crowd is easy - just wear a suitably bright colour - but is that as easy in the job market?

One of the key things people often over look is personal branding - the consideration of how you project yourself and what you are putting out there for people to see (and inevitably judge you on).
This is waaaaay before the interview stage. It's every detail about you including social media profiles, personal statements on these social channels and of course the layout and content of your CV.

If you are looking for a new job, and you're name has popped up on our list - just be sure we are researching you! We're looking into your social media profiles to find out a little about you - so think about your profile image, consider refreshing your personal statement on channels such as LinkedIn and then there is the all important CV....

A couple of things to action here... there's no right or wrong answer but this is what we look for as recruiters...
- make sure your contact details are standing proud at the top
- ensure your personal statement is concise and maybe a few sentences long talking of your career goals and ambitions.
- list work history with your current position first and work back.
- each work position should include job title, time worked and key applications/projects.
- then comes you academic qualifications.

We'll do a separate post about your LinkdenIn profile as that's a whole different ball game, but in the meantime consider the above and have a quick read through this article for some help and ideas on how to create a good CV.

It's International Women's Day but as this post was being created it suddenly got us thinking that if there should be a International Women's Day, then surely there should also be a International Mens day too?!

It turns out there is! It's 19th Nov if anyone needs to know, but it doesn't have the publicity or exposure of IWD does it?
Maybe we should just have an international achievement day - a day when we recognise the contributions to society from men and women.

My little boy asking me this morning, why do we eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday? And do you know what, I didn't have an answer!!

So, interesting fact time, here's why.... from a quick Google search....apparently it started when Pope St. Gregory prohibited Christians from eating all forms of meat and animal products during Lent around A.D. 600. ... So Christians made pancakes to use up their supply of eggs, milk and butter in preparation for Lent.

How cool is Engineering??
At Recruitech we are constantly wowed by incredible engineering feats and the incredibly talented teams of people working on them!

The Øresund Bridge is an engineering marvel that connects the Danish capital of Copenhagen to the Swedish city of Malmö. A cable-stayed bridge that runs almost 5 miles to an artificial island where it changes into a tunnel that runs a further 2.5 miles.

How awesome is that?!

Today we braved the winds, the rain and the hail to join The Best of Bolton at their Feb networking event at The Whites Hotel Bolton - home of Bolton Wanderers Football Club.

What an incredible venue for such a great business event. It's fabulous to be able to be out networking face to face and meeting with local like minded people.
