A day out with us
I love to seek out and sample fun days out, so this is my page to share some of the fun places we've
What a lovely little gem this place is!
£1.00 for children and £2.00 for adults and no that is not a typo!!
We were there just over an hour and only went round once as we didn't have a great deal of time but I could have sat and watch a number of the animals all day long!
Theres a wide variety to see and they were all out in the open for all to see. No shy animals here!
Theres a little shop too and some lovely gardens around the miniature zoo. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the Glasgow area.
you were amazing!!
We got sun, rain, wind and hail but that didn't stop us having a great day out yesterday.
My tip for this one, definitely get the photo pass. £5 and you get all the images digitally and one printed. We only had 4 photos taken but could have had more and you get each photo digitally on 9 backgrounds, so we came away with 36 photos and one printed!
Favourites of the day, for my son was the tree kangaroo and her baby and for me the Tiger cubs and the bat house! The bats are amazing.
All the time we were there too, we were asked if we were members, as members get discounts in all the retail places...so that's one to consider for the future, as it's only an hour's drive for us.
All in all a great day and hopefully we'll get back there over the summer too!
I should have posted this last weekend!
This was my mother's day treat, a day at with my boy
I used my clubcard points to get in and paid for the meal deal online, so a cheap but amazing day out. The food was great too.
Blackpool zoo has always been a favourite of mine, you can easily get round it twice in a day. Loads to see, talks and sea lion shows, a playground and farm.
The elephants have moved since the last time I went, they have the most fantastic space and I could have stood watching them for hours. There's something really relaxing about their enclosure and the gentle giants themselves.
The pelicans were my favourites last weekend though, what fascinating birds they are and next to them are the gorgeous flamingos.
Then around the corner, you can sit and watch the sea lions, who are incredible and at the end of the show, came back and posed for photos 😂
One thing I did notice though and it was actually mentioned during the sea lion show, the number of bins around the zoo. There was one on every corner, no reason at all to litter and in turn the zoo was immaculate!
We did miss the big cats as they're getting a new enclosure which is opening this year, so we will just have to go back!
Can't wait to visit again in the summer!! Fab day out.

It's been a while...
Our first day out of 2023 and it did not disappoint!
what an amazing place. Whether you are a massive HP nerd or not, this place is incredible.
So much to see and do, I could have easily upload 100 other photos. We had an amazing time and are absolutely shattered now.
Thank you WB Tours, fantastic!
#2023
Lovely free event on next weekend in Stockport and Crewe 😍
I love a good spur of the moment day out . Being National Trust members is good for that.
So today we finally got to see NT Wentworth Castle Gardens
What a little gem!! £5 for adults and £2.50 for children if you're not members.
There's a park, a cafe, the gardens, the parkland where the deer are and hidden right in the top corner of the gardens is the loveliest little castle.
We only had 2 & half hours until closing and it wasn't enough time, so we will definitely be going back!!
It was lovely to see their tribute to the Queen and the flag at half mast. We left a message in the book of condolences and in the peaceful setting they have putting together. Beautiful.
Scarefest at Alton Towers 🎃🎃🎃
With Halloween not too far away, it's time to start planning this year's activities and look back and past Halloween fun.
Last year we did Halloween
Always a fab day out and their halloween trail was great fun!! So, what we should we do this year?? Suitable for a 7 year old and a scared mum, dad will be fine with whatever 😂

Wild in Art are doing some amazing art trails this summer, check out their page.
Our nearest is the Salford Literacy Trail, 20 book benches.
We'll definitely be doing these this year, we did the Salford Quays snowmen and the Manchester Bees, actually finding all 200+ bees over a period of 5 weekends, so we need to continue our trend.
A great fun day or two out....good luck hunting 😍

This has been one of our go to places since my son was 4 months old, it's small enough to go round twice but that full of different things, you'll see something new on your second time round.
There's daily talks, you can feed some of the animals and pre covid they had some amazing shows.
Add that to the playground, the outdoor ride alongs, zip wire, sand and play, ping pong tables and the great outdoor seating area in the cafe in the car park and you've got yourself a cracking day out.
The latest thing at The Tropical Butterfly house in Sheffield, is the bats are now free in the actual butterfly house and on our last visit we were lucky enough to spot a super cute one.
Peak Wildlife Park one of our favourite days out!
We are super lucky to have this place not too far away. It's a really good day out with a good entrance fee too.
Most of the animal enclosures welcome you to walk amongst the animals and there's a lot to choose from.
Plus walks around the park with sheep and pigs, an indoor soft play, cafe with an amazing outdoor seating area and a great shop on the way out.
What's not to love!
Oh and for anyone wondering what the creature in the first pic is, it's a Kirk Dik Dik and I believe this charming little fella, who comes over to say hi, is actually called Kirk and he has a cute wriggly nose.
TCB - Unlimited Dining Experience Redefined
The Chinese buffet in Bolton and I believe there's others too
The food choices are great and everything we tried were delicious 😋 but what makes the day out here are the cute, very polite little robots that bring you your food
The prices are reasonable too, to say you get a dining experience like no other
I love to write and I've always wanted to have a blog but writing a blog is all about finding a topic that's suitable.
I've blogged about weight loss and food before but it just never seems to go well, I'm not one for sticking to a diet long as for food that had the opposite effect.
So, I've sat and thought about our life and what people say about us and the first thing people always comment on, is our fun days out.
My grandad loved to take us on fun days out when we were children and I think I've just naturally carried that on with my child.
Even if we go away on holiday, I love to plan days out and we've been to some amazing places, so I've decided to start sharing them with you and hopefully give you some good ideas for school holidays etc.
This one is Wentworth Garden Centre we went here a few weeks ago for a cheap day out. It cost £9 for 1 adult and 1 child and animal food at the family farm and £3 for us to go in the gardens and do the maze!!
It was such a lovely clean place and along with the garden center, playground, pet shop and the paid for parts, we had an amazing day!!
