It is quite time to let you know that from tomorrow I'll start a new venture!!! 🥳🥳🥳
I'm so excited about the new beginning, I was dreaming about this job for some time now and to find the right one in the right school, I can't be more happy and grateful !!!
I'll still be available as a seamstress too, but starting from tomorrow ( 4th of September) all of you that will need my skills for sewing and alterations jobs, please make sure that you leave plenty of time for me in order to do whatever you need me for as my new schedule is going to be very tight. I'm going to be available mostly in the afternoons (weekdays) and some weekends!

And the bustle !!! Yes, I've added a bustle too in order to make the bride feel very comfortable during reception and of course when dancing!!!😉

In order to alter this dress, first I had to remove all the lace from the hem and the lace from the underarms, then to actually work on taking in on the sides of the bodice, readjusting the neckline(front and back) and shortening the skirt....and yes, about the skirt part...this dress's skirt was made out of 8 layers of fabric!!! YES...8 layers, a very meticulous job to ensure that all 8 layers are even . In the end, there were 47m of hem fabric thst I had to go through ☺️!
After all the alteration were done, I had to stitch back the lace both on the bodice and on the hem. I also used the leftover lace to add more on the back of the bodice in order to make the bra straps not visible as hey...comfort is the more important thing on your big day, isn't it ?!😁

I want to share with you one of my complex projects for this summer! A wedding dress that needed some alterations in order to fit my client perfectly: both front and back neckline was too loose, also it needed to be taken in on the side seams of the bodice(underarms) and shortening the skirt part! With lace appliques all over the bodice and at the hemline of the skirt, this was definitely a very time consuming but I must admit that I've really enjoyed it !!!

A dress that needed to be made bigger on the top part ! I've added some "V" shaped fabric on the underarms,to make it fit perfectly on the customer. Luckily, the customer managed to find another same dress in order for me to make a smooth alteration and keep it in the same style as this was the request as a bridesmaid .

Working on this dress!! The customer wants to give it another look so after discussion, we decided to take aways the big, voluminous frills that goes from back all the way to under the bust and adding some thin straps to support the bodice! Not a quick project, as I will have to take apart most of the bodice part of the dress in order to take away the frills amd the fabric has glued sparkles which are now everywhere 😁... but definitely doable with a lot a patience & time 😉

What a fun project it was... And complete in only 2 days! I absolutely loved to see my design come alive! Pure joy and excitement! Unique and casual-chic style!
The only thing that is missing are the right buttons.

This is from one of my assignments that I had to do for my Fashion Design Diploma.
For this assignment I had to establish a business and to make a 6 outfit collection: design, fashion and technical drawing using Adobe Illustrator using real fabric swatches.
Now I want to make it even more real, so I chose the last design, just the jacket, to actually make it! 😍

In the end the customer decided to go for a less imposing applique as the dress, through it's mermaid design and luxurious taffeta fabric, it's already standing out so no need for extra powerful applique too. This is the beauty of handmade, you can change things as you go, to suit personal taste. Happy customer and happy me!!!

First and second fitting for this amazing young lady and her dress!!!
All went super smooth, just few adjustments needed after the first fitting and then the second fitting was to make sure that once everything was sewn and pressed down properly, it fits perfectly and also to establish the length of the dress.

Yeyyyy!! I've did it!!! I'm so proud of myself!!!
After 1year and a half of hard working, studying like crazy and sharing commitments between work, family, and study, I've finally did it!
Even though this journey was not always straightforward, filled with joy and sometimes frustration, it's definitely been been a learning curve that will serve me well in the upcoming future!!!

A whole bag of clothes to be altered : jeans to be tighten on the waist, bodysuits to be made in to tops, dresses to be cut in to tops, a jacket and a jumper to be taken in on the sides in order to make them more flattering on the body.
