Whilst there is such a Manchester buzz! Let’s have some more amazing Manchester wedding pictures. And bees of course, so often with Manchester there are bees. I met Lucia at wedding fair in January this year. She came back to me a few months later wanting a smaller comb version of my bee veil and we came up with this over what’s app. It’s so easy these days . I’ve never been more proud of a shoot than this…I love Gail’s work and we’ve shot together many times before. So when on a little rose wine fuelled night out she suggested we sorted a gorgeous city based shoot, just simple stylish details, I was in! Kate was an obvious choice to style up the dream venue of Ducie St Warehouse. That halter dress was a total gift from Sara and Daniella nailed the smoky eye and statement lip. I was squealing with delight when I saw the mid bun with the pearl veil going over it. Dan’s flowers, Laura’s cake and those shoes from Emmy! Not forgetting our gorgeous couple. I don’t what else to say, we all worked really hard but sometimes things just come together beautifully and this really did. Some kind of shared vision serendipity!

When you get to wear it again and again Happy anniversary to my bride who thoughtfully sent me this picture of her out on her anniversary date wearing her wedding day headband again! Looking warm and cosy and glowing. This makes my heart sing as I design so many of my pieces to be worn again, even the ivory ones. Better for you and the planet! Being honest I feel lucky to be a 45 year old woman who didn’t have to grow up with social media. It must be so hard for kids these days. I’m a little aware of this with my sons. But not quite there yet. As a grown up entering into this world for work, I’ve hardly ever experienced anything but kindness in the bridal world on here. It’s a supportive place. Even if you are comparing yourself or having a day of imposter syndrome which we all have, right? So thank you for always being kind. It’s still cringe putting your face on here when you didn’t grow up that way. And thanks for the pics 🤍

When you realise one of your brides has reached their ten year wedding anniversary… Vicky’s words “ten years… where’s that gone? “ I think I’d say the same. Vicky was my actual first brides to start me on the road of using heirloom pieces in my work, repurposing them for a modern bridal look. I can still remember her visiting me with her mum and bringing out the classic been in the attic for 30 -40 years bag of delights She wanted a short veil so we opted for a blusher style with the top layer of tulle made from her mums own veil and used the white roses from a 1970s floral headpiece that her mum had worn to build her headpiece, adding in creamier deco style lace pieces to blend in with her vintage style halter dress. Finished with a garter which I crafted from the lace trim on the edge of her mum’s veil.
This week I’ve had 3 consultations involving family veils and accessories being repurposed. Call it whatever you like. Vintage, repurposing, upcycling, making an heirloom. I don’t care but I do LOVE it! Happy ten years

Off we go to the wilds of Scotland….. quite literally wild! This storm wasn’t part of the plan 🌪️💦 A few days in Luss celebrating a wonderful couple and (supposedly) enjoying the scenery of Loch Lomond awaits. Reminded me of this Scottish elopement feel we got when we added a blanket to keep the model cosy….brrrr

Simplicity. I’m in the joint planning stages of a fabulous final shoot of the year with my fave gal . We always connect on our love of simplicity in design. An orange lip, a good shoe, a pop of colour in a single flower, a really nice bit of architecture. So this one is going to be a belter. Obviously this is one of the funnest bits of the job for us both so watch this space. Gail manages to capture such a timeless look. 14 years. 14 years of laughing (and arguing of course) I’d rather laugh and argue with you than anyone else tho Ed. Day off today to hike up a hill and have a pub lunch. I might wear my headpiece at the top given it was the start of my 14 year silver sixpence journey too, what do you reckon. So grateful for these pics by beautiful she’ll be missed forever and my MIL who made our wedding cake. ❤️

Thought it was timely to say hi ahead of tomorrow’s fair with and I’m Nicola, designer, maker, social media-er, sourcer, admin-er etc etc at I love anything involving textiles, upcycling stuff, gardening, seeing new cities, girls weekends, red wine, yoga, reiki and baths. I rarely sit down and do nothing…need to get better at that but maybe that’s why I like baths so much. Im a Brummie with Scottish family who moved to Manchester from London 14 years ago whilst heavily pregnant, for 6 months, and we’ve never left. So I don’t really know where I’m from. I started when we moved having left behind 12 years in the clothing industry and have remained self employed ever since. I now have my own home studio in my garden where you can visit me for a chat, consultation, whinge, cry… whatever you like. Today….what a wonderful day I have had at the and the Diva exhibition. I miss london so much everytime I go back… there’s no where like it for me. With an hour to kill before my train I wandered through St Pancras and was reminded of this beautiful ballet inspired shoot yet again featuring my bow veil. That beautiful staton roof never gets boring. .london

I’m so excited to be on a train nearly pulling into Euston and heading up to to meet my bestie for lunch and little overnight at hers.
