Hannah Louise Stitches
At HannahLouiseStitches I combine my passion for colour with the traditional skill of embroidery
Today I gathered together my favourites from my housplant jungle to photograph for the purpose of my final project... but it was too good an opportunity not to get a photo with them too!!
I told you I was a crazy plant lady... there are at 55 now in our lil' terrace now.
I'll share with you the colour image in time!
A selection of things collected on our six day Textile Tour in Europe on foot, tram, train and plane. 50 miles walked too many photos taken. Time to put our collected research into our final synthesis module.
Starting in Munich we went to the .muenchen and and the and ended up in the @
We also visited the and discovered the wonderful store
Then it was time for a long train ride from Munich to Tilberg and we spent two days at the and lab and visited .
Finally it was 24 hours in the Hague and we went to the Paper Biennial at the , climbed the Binnenhof viewing tower and explored the independent shops and restaurants on foot finding a lovely textile shop before flying home last night.
It's been amazing. Can't wait for next year

Just over a month left of my Textiles MA....!!
Zoom in details
Playing around with different colourways on as I build my portfolio up. What do you guys think of this one?!
The process...
The hand drawn or painted design is digitised using special software and converted into stitches which then are transferred to the embroidery machine and stitched at 1000 stitches a minute.
We have a new machine at uni now and I cannot wait to have a go on it soon!!
Being absorbed by embroidery...
We are half way through Testing Time .design
It has been a very insightful time showcasing our work in progress towards the Synthesis module and opening it up to the panel of reviewers, industry professionals and the general public. I have been lucky enough to speak to and so far and we still have two days to go.
Lots of ideas and concepts bubbling around in my head now, thank you for organising . Let's go!
Clashing beautifully with my MA Textiles Work in Progress stand on show to the public until the 22nd June 10-6 pm .design .
Blues and green have been my signature colour palette with a pop of magenta pink.
On display I have my first prototype of a vertical garden, Plantopia where I turned my 2D digital embroidery into 3D plants.
I have also been testing out using photos of my OASIS installation and digitally printing these onto different types of fabric. There are three types of samples; the large cotton sateen drapped from the top corner, a silk sample suspended with the middle and three velvet samples.
The feedback so far has been very encouraging so let's get back to work and make some products!
๐ฟ๐งต Here it is!!! ๐งต๐ฟ
Over a million stitches of digital embroidery commissioned for the Benzie Building Vertical Gallery at

This large panel of fantastical foliage from my CMF unit didn't quite make it to my show display as I am still playing with how to properly display this.
But I love it. I wish all plants could be these colours.
Final day prepping before tomorrow's private view and exhibition opening.
What a week and it's only Wednesday ๐
Just dropping another close up of my Vertical Gallery commission 'OASIS' on the second floor of the Benzie Building at the

Behind the scenes... So work for deadline 3 is still very much in the process.... Despite my best blooming efforts of getting it done!
I am still sewing away here in the colourful corner in my studio and at uni. The ACTUAL deadline I should say is for the show in the in just over 2 weeks so it's a good job I had given myself some extra time for the 'just incase...' I have done as much as I can that's in my control so just waiting on supplier ๐ฌ so if you want to see the final piece.... Come see it from the 15th June!
On another note.... My final MA unit started this week.... It's not sunk in yet ๐
