National Fresh Breath Day is observed every year on August 6th to create awareness of oral hygiene in the fight against bad breath. It is a daily battle, and how you handle it makes all the difference in the world of healthy smiles. 🤩🦷🪥

How to keep your breath fresh:

🦷 Brush twice a day and floss daily to get rid of plaque. Replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months.

🦷 Keep routine dental checkups and cleans to remove bacteria buildup under the gum like and hard plaque that can’t be removed with a toothbrush alone.

🦷 Clean dental appliance daily; this includes cleaning dentures, retainers and mouth guards daily to remove plaque.

🦷 Since sugar causes bad breath, only chew sugar-free gum, and limit your intake of sweetened drinks.

🦷 Prevent dry mouth and wash out the mouth by drinking lots of water throughout your day.

🦷 Quit smoking! Smoking is one of the most common reasons for bad breath.

Dental sedation is a way of making you feel more at ease during treatment. It doesn’t put you to sleep like a general anaesthetic; you’re still conscious and able to talk with your dentist. Instead, it puts you into a deeply relaxed state, where you won’t feel any discomfort or pain.

Dr Matthew Whittingham provides dental sedation here at WCC. This has helped many patients undergo the required treatment without any stress 😌😁

NHS dental charges are rising from 24th April 2023.
We don’t like giving our patients bad news but it’s best you are informed.

Visiting our practice regular should stop you from needing any treatment and paying for the higher NHS bands.

Having good oral hygiene and a healthy diet will also help 🦷🪥

If you have a fear of dentists, suffer from dental anxiety and have low pain tolerance you can benefit significantly from sedation.

The aim is to help you through necessary dental care without experiencing any pain or anxiety.

Costing around £150 a session it can be considered to help you through the dental treatment you may require

New patients welcome £45 for a examination including X-rays and treatment plan
