Forever Manchester stands by our diverse communities who make Greater Manchester the strong and compassionate place that we love. Alongside our fellow Community Foundations we condemn the actions shown by a violent minority over the last week and know that the solutions exist in our collective strength: https://www.ukcommunityfoundations.org/news/responding-to-the-ongoing-riots-around-the-uk

The founder of Daffodils Dream, Maureen Holcroft, recalls the experience of a mother thanking her for the help she had received from Daffodils Dream just 3 years earlier. This family had been moved after being subjected to racial abuse, and when they left, they had nothing but the clothes on their backs. The mother told Maureen it was like Christmas to her and her 3 young children when they received care bundles from Daffodils Dream, just days after their move.

From Ukraine to Bury: Giving a hand up, not a hand out.

At Forever Manchester, we believe in fostering a strong and inclusive community across Greater Manchester. That's why we're proud to support incredible organisations like Fair Futures CIC, who are making a real difference in the lives of Ukrainian refugees arriving in Bury.

One inspiring story exemplifies the power of your support. A young woman arrived at 16 with limited English, facing a future filled with uncertainty. But thanks to Fair Futures’ social clubs, summer programs, and English classes, she found a supportive network and a path forward.

Her dedication and the personalised support offered by Fair Futures paid off in a big way. This summer, she proudly achieved her GCSEs, including English, Maths, Science, and even Russian! Fair Futures further empowered her by assisting with her college application, securing her a well-deserved spot in her chosen program.

But her story doesn’t end there. Today, she’s a volunteer translator for Fair Futures, confidently using her Ukrainian and newly acquired English skills.

This transformation is a testament to the impact Fair Futures has on these families, and it wouldn’t be possible without your support. ❤️

At Forever Manchester, we support a range of groups, but all of them have something in common - they have a positive impact on peoples' mental health. Either through direct mental health services such as therapy or counselling, or simply by creating connections and fighting the loneliness that can come from being isolated from your community.

This mental health awareness week, reach out to your friends and family, your community, or get involved with a group in your area - after all, we will have funded groups within 1 mile of your home if you live within Greater Manchester.

Let’s do something extraordinary. Together!

Forever Manchester is a charity that raises money to fund and support community activity across Greater Manchester. We help local people do extraordinary things together.

We fund and support a huge range of activities that help young people, older people and disabled people, as well as homelessness, sports, environmental, education, and cancer support projects, plus everything in between.

In every neighbourhood across the region there are thousands of people involved in community activity. In fact at any given time there are an unbelievable 20,000 local grassroots projects of varying sizes and interest taking place, each one providing support and opportunity for the 2.6 million population of Greater Manchester.

We work with our local communities to inspire and encourage projects that they want to see, to make their neighbourhoods happier, healthier and safer places to be. We help local people to build communities from the inside out, and galvanise the true creative, entrepreneurial spirit for Greater Mancunians to emerge and shine.
