A 60's soul in a Millennial's body... another inspiring story from one of our former music students.
For Jodie Richardson, a former music student at Access Creative College, music has been a lifelong passion that blends retro influences with a modern twist.
Following Jodieโs latest collab with Mod Shoes we caught up with her to find out more about her musical journey, the creative process behind her artistry, the impact of ACC, and her advice for aspiring musicians.
๐ค On her time at Access:
โIt helped me immensely.
โNot only did they help me discover the sound I was interested in creating, but they also helped me discover different writing techniques, get my confidence of performing alongside other people and by myself.
โBefore I started ACC, I had no knowledge of how to use Logic.
โIt really is such an important tool if you are a musician, being able to have a basic demo to present can pave the way to becoming a recording musician.โ

ACC Manchester kicked off Showcase season last night, and we're brimming with pride from the exceptional talent that was on display.
Centre Manager Mark Acton kicked off the show, introducing bands and vocal artists to the stage - in-between presenting course-based awards across Music, Media & Games.
For our students, its a night to look forward to, let their hair down and enjoy a well needed social event with friends from the course, with family and friends also welcome to the event.
It's been a tough year, with no student exempt from hard deadlines, steep learning curves, high standards from our tutors and juggling theory work with practical performance based activities.
But wow! ๐ It was all so worth it for what was a brilliant display of artistry last night.
Following on this week are showcases in London, Birmingham and Bristol!
On July 18th and 19th , we're aligning with Access Sport and Birmingham Bullring to bring esports and live music to The Bullring!
Rocket League tournaments will be set up by Access Sport, and we've arranged some of the top Birmingham musical talent from ACC to perform their latest singles.

Whatever the result, there will be lots of routes open to learners including some great Level 2 options at Access Creative College if they decide to study a creative course.
Level 2 courses are one-year courses, broadly equivalent to GCSEs, and act as a stepping stone to Level 3, two-year college courses from which learners can move onto Degrees and more.
We offer a wide range of creative Level 2 courses at Access in subjects across music, media and games, so thereโs something for everyone. Level 2 courses are funded by the government, just like Level 3s, so they won't cost anything for learners aged 16-18 and wonโt impact their Level 3 course being free of charge either.
