- Managing a team of CNC Machinists and Fitters with an emphasis on maintaining high quality work

- Planning work to maintain customer deadlines and ensuring expectations are met

- Liaising with the Manager to ensure smooth running of the business

- Produce estimates and communicate with customers and suppliers

- Coordinate the inspection of manufactured parts and adhere to company quality procedures / processes.

⚙️ Site Fitting Services 🔩

Today we installed a support brace on the foot bridge for Maryport Harbour & Marina. This was required ahead of the strong winds that’s forecast at the end of this week.

Thanks to Gold Scaffolding for the quick response and putting the scaffolding up on Sunday so that our Fitters could complete the work today.

So last night we had our usual Xmas get together at the Old Mill Dearham. Great food and even better company. Well done to Julia for organising it. Gutted Andy, Lee, Terry and John couldn’t make it.

Looking back on 2023 our business has continued to grow and we’ve added another Machinist and an apprentice Fitter / Machinist to our team, taking us to 13 employees in total. The order book for 2024 is looking positive already and we’ve built some great relationships with existing and new customers. All credit to the brilliant work our team do every week!

I know it’s not quite Xmas but we’d like wish all our customers, colleagues in the CMA and our suppliers a Merry Christmas and we look forward to working with you in 2024 ☃️🎄🎅🏻🍻

Well what a year that’s been! We’ve had our challenges to say the least. My Dad, who was the heart of the business continues to be a big miss but I’m sure he’d be proud of how things have improved and especially Deacon joining the business and following in his footsteps.

As a business we’ve come a long way in 12 month. We’ve invested in a bigger workshop, new machinery and continued to grow our team. Orders continue to come in, we’ve formed good relationships and continue to work alongside some of Cumbrias most successful engineering companies. All of this being testament to the quality of work our engineers produce.

We’d like to thank all our customers for the continued work and we look forward to working with you all in 2023!

There’s been 2 new additions to DM Engineering this week. Deacon Martin who has started as the Company’s first apprentice. He’ll be spending his 1st year up at Lakes College before joining the team at our workshop.

The second addition is a 2017 XYZ 710 Vertical Machining Centre which alongside our other CNC machines, will enable us to keep up with growing demand from our customers.
