Good afternoon guys, I know we closed last Sunday but as my daughter is off tomorrow evening for 3 weeks away for the summer hols I’ve decided to take the day off to spend some quality time with her so will be closing tomorrow too. Something a little different this evening feeding one of our neighbours at an event they held for their clients!

Fillet steak sliders, chilli potato skins, pork belly and chicken sticks were by far the favourites. The girls barely made it past the door before everyone jumped on their trays!

This was so much fun and I can’t wait to do it again soon.

As always, to make quality food you need to use quality local suppliers, so a great big shout out once again to The Buckingham Butcher Harry’s of Winslow for their incredible meat produce as always! These guys really are the best. Their product but also the service they provide. Outstanding every time.

Also we tried out The Online Greengrocer with the fresh fruit salad and veg items and they were all so fresh. Brilliant quality and at a great price.

We’ve had a few little extras added in to our counter this week. Monty’s plot cakes grow all their own vegetables and then use them to make cakes with… what an awesome idea and can honestly say these cakes are insane! The sample box went down well 🙈 please don’t tell my PT. Courgette and lime was my favourite so it’s obviously ok to include in my meal plan - 2 of my 5 a day.

We’ve had a crazy busy week with outside catering for office meetings, afternoon teas, cupcake orders and sandwich platters for the hanslope social club. The start of a very busy summer. Private hire afternoon tea parties, holiday club lunches, canapés and various other catering for private parties at outside venues the list goes on… and to add to that… 8 months in and we have been nominated for our second award!

I can’t get over how amazing our first year is going. It takes a lot of hard work, an amazing team and some incredibly loyal customers to keep a small business going strong and we’re so grateful for every one of you.

Here’s a few tips to make your afternoon fun and
simple:

🐥 You can buy a ticket for a duck to go in the race from Castlethorpe Village Shop, The Lodge Farm Cafe and The Navigation, Thrupp Wharf this week. £1 a ticket and it will save you queuing on the day. 1st prize is £100!!

🐥 Car parking on site is FREE. Please follow the signs. We will have designated disabled parking 🚙

🐥 Location is the River Tove, use signature.relax.yoga on What3Words if unsure where to go 📍

🐥 Most vendors will have card machines on site, but do bring a bit of cash just in case (especially if you are entering the Fun Dog Show) 💰

🐥 Toilets are available on site 🚾

🐥 Pimp Yer Ducks are available in Castlethorpe Village Shop to decorate before the event but you can do them onsite. Remember to bring them with you if you want to enter the competition - we have some wonderful prizes! 😎

🐥 Dogs are very welcome, please just keep them on a lead and clean up after them 🐾

🐥 Weather looks like it’s going to be good, so make sure you bring suncream, hats, etc. There will be plenty of food and refreshments available for sale to keep you fed and watered ☀️

Whilst I was away finishing up my last wedding job in Dorset this weekend (in a very hot kitchen on the loveliest day of the year 😰 ) my team absolutely smashed it yet again. Wonderful bunch of humans that they are ♥️♥️

So now that we are all fully trained and happy to work without me lurking around causing mischief, we will be starting to open on Mondays again from the 3rd June!!!

Thank you so much for everyone that has been so understanding, unfortunately with a small business sometimes these things happen but you’ve all been very kind and I’m extremely grateful.

So for the rest of May our opening hours are:

Ps our new extraction is working perfectly and all feedback so far has been that there has been no smell in the seating area! Hopefully anyone that was put off by the smell will now return to enjoy our top quality breakfasts soon 🙏🙏

Morning folks, don’t forget it’s a slightly reduced menu today as I am away in Dorset catering my very last wedding over here (ready to start taking lots of wedding bookings on in Milton Keynes)

The girls are still offering all the breakfast sandwiches/baps/baguettes, eggs on toast, jackets, toasties/ paninis and anything from the deli counter. The only thing missing is the full plated breakfasts but these will be back when I return on Sunday.

The sun is shining and it seems like the perfect day for a milkshake or an iced coffee 🖤🖤

And we’re set! Our new extraction fan is all fitted and ready to go. We’ve done a very thorough test on it and the suction is holding the instructions up all by itself so it definitely works lol.

Big thanks to my landlord and the guys that have all fitted it for all their help. And thanks to all the customers that have been so patient whilst getting these issues sorted. Very much appreciated!

I do have my last wedding in Dorset to cater for this weekend so Friday and Saturday is a reduced menu still but after that we can get back to normality. I will be confirming the definite date for re-opening on Mondays next week too.

Unfortunately the extraction isn’t quite finished yet so we will be closed tomorrow… however it is a whopping great big extraction unit and I’m so happy you’ll all be able to enjoy your visits more when we re-open without the excess smell in the building.
