AGADIR MOROCCO 🇲🇦

We didn’t do a huge amount in Agadir preferring to just chill but they do boast the only cable cars in Africa!

We really enjoyed the cable cars and the castle at the top. It cost 120MAD (£10) for a return ticket but you can walk up and down for free if you want to.

🙌🏻 Top Tip get a cab to the cable cars - we could not find them on foot. Any red cab will take you just flag one down.

Once at the top you can explore the site but there is no access inside the castle walls as it is now a cemetery. There are boards that explain the history of the site but we allowed one of the guides to show us round.

🙌🏻 Top Tip allow one of the guides to show you round, they are incredibly knowledgeable. You will have to tip them we gave 100MAD (£9) it was worth it!

Once back down using the cable cars we jumped in a cab to the largest Souk in Agadir.

Now, I didn’t like being shouted at and talked to by all the traders but the market was pretty amazing if you see past that. The smells of all spices and you could literally buy anything there including furniture! It’s well worth a visit just to experience it.

The rest of the week we spent by the pool or walking round the promenade to the marina. The beach is so clean and tidy it was a joy to be on. You could also ride a Camel on the beach if you wanted to.

All in all we had a fabulous week in Agadir and would highly recommend a trip there. It is a great alternative to Spain and especially fabulous for a relaxing week away with just the right amount of things to do to keep you for getting board.

TRAVEL DAY

We travelled to Morocco on a TUI package deal. Flying from London Gatwick and using Holiday Extras to book a hotel the night before and parking.

Staying at a Holiday Inn the night before was easy and left us a 15 minute drive to the airport on the day.

We used Meet and Greet parking (or as I call it lazy parking 😉), this is where you drive to the terminal and drop off the car, they then park it for you and you stroll happily into the terminal to drop off your bags. Easy peasy and stress free.

Bag drop was straightforward and off we went through security. No queue and straight to breakfast at Wetherspoon’s (are you even going abroad is you don’t do this 🤣) .

🛫The flight was good, service was excellent and it wasn’t long before we were landing in Agadir. 🛬

At passport control they asked the usual questions stamped the passports and off we went to find our bags. Once we had them you have to get them scanned and then leave the airport.

There was one TUi rep telling everyone which bus to get on and another told us which hotels and the order of drop off before the coach left.

‼️when you leave the terminal the porters will try and grab your bags and take them to the coach for you. We just told them we had no cash and they soon gave us our bags back when they realised there would be no tip‼️

There was no rep making sure we got on the right bus or even to tell us where the buses were. No one took our name or checked us off a list which I found weird. We did make it to the right bus and our transfer to TUI Blu RIU Tadika Beach took about 20/25 mins.

Check in was easy (we checked in online before had) we received a welcome drink and a porter took us to our room (have a tip ready for this one as the staff here are so nice).

What a great start to what is shaping out to be a fantastic week. ☀️🏖️

If you would like to book your Moroccan getaway email [email protected] and the team will be in touch.

As this year’s Halloween Horror Nights draws to a close we though it would be good to give you the low down on our visit earlier in October. 🎃

This was the first time we had ever been to and it did not disappoint.

The houses were amazing, the scare zones were fabulous. The atmosphere was electric and everyone was having the time of their lives.

So here’s what we thought

Best House - it was a toss up between Blood Moon Dark Offering & The Darkest Deal. They were both brilliant

Best Design - Duelling Dragons - hands down incredible

Worst House - Chucky - just didn’t get it.

Most Disappointing - Monsters Unmasked however, we just had a bad run through.

The original houses were so much better than the IP houses, although that may be because I’m not a fan of any of the franchises.

We only had one night to get as much done as possible and we managed to do all 10 houses with NO fast pass. It was a mission though.

Would we do again? we’re already planning it for next year!

Top Tips ✨

If you have a day ticket use Stay and Scream IT’S FREE- it was busy but we still managed to get 3 houses done before the event opened. One being Stranger Things that had a consistent 2 hour wait all night.

Use the app to see wait times and head to the house with the shortest queue. It means a lot of walking but if you only have one night then needs must.

Make time for a break and food, typically, after 11pm it starts to quieten down a bit and the queue lengths drop. I’d recommend having a break about 10ish.

Wear good comfortable shoes!

Take a water bottle as you can get free water from the Coke refill machines.

If you can stay on site. The buses run till 4am and it’s so easy. We stayed at the food was good, the room was great and the facilities were fab.

Venturing into the heart of Italy’s fashion capital, Milano 🇮🇹

Kicking off the adventure, I swiftly checked into my hotel, unburdened myself of bags, and made a beeline for the nearest metro station. Navigating the ticket machines proved to be a breeze; just remember to validate your ticket for a smooth journey!

The Duomo di Milano is a beautiful sight! I got my ticket and headed inside to see the culture and history.

If you’re a starbucks fan like myself, make sure you visit the Starbucks reserve roastery where you will find the biggest starbucks in Europe! One thing I didnt know is you can order alcohol drinks there so I treated myself to a Cosmopolitan.

Milan has an endless supply of activities to do depending on the time of year you travel, in August of 2023 my visit to Milan hit temperatures of 38°C, so I tried to stay in the shade as much as possible during my trip.

The Naviglio Pavese canal is also a popular tourist destination where you can walk or cycle along the path, enjoying scenery and little cafes where you can get some delicious espresso!

This is what I got up to with my 48 hours in Milan! I loved every second of it and I will be back!
