We wanted to give you a little insight into our Enrichment department here at Hollybank. Take a look at what our Elms Day Service has to offer! We welcome day-time placements for young people who are over 18 years of age with complex and profound disabilities and sensory impairments. Our skilled and experienced team work closely with family members, social workers and school transition workers, to create a person-centred programme of meaningful activities. We just wanted to share a little more joy from the day students from Leeds Arts University came to visit and took some photos of some of our adults! We hope you enjoy this video, and we can’t wait to show you the finished photos which will be part of an exhibition taking place at Hollybank in a few months as part of our campaign, which aims to remove the stigma of disability 👨‍🦽 ♿️

Our ELMs service has been going from strength to strength since it reopened properly. We caught up with them in one of their science sessions, where they made fizzy paints, how cool are these!? Looks like the adults have been having lots of fun with our wonderful ELMs activity co-ordinators 🤩

Did you know today is National Read a Book Day? Story telling is super important to us. We often use it as an opportunity to learn and teach new Makaton words and pull together ‘story sacks’ full of props in our ELMs service to help our children, young people and adults develop their fine motor skills. Our ELMs co-ordinators have also done lots of virtual story time sessions during the pandemic, to ensure our adults and children never miss out on a good book!
