There’s definitely a theme to my work at the moment, partly due to Stag Rock being my favourite place, and largely because we saw a stag on our wedding day as we walked through the glen towards where we said our vows. It’s just very much in my head at the moment.

This week has been a tad frustrating with illness and injuries meaning I haven’t been able to get on with things. I’m hoping that I’ll be a bit more with it this next week 🤞🏻

🌼 little 20x20 watering can 🌼

This little watering can was surprisingly time consuming. I decided to experiment with using wool from an old cardigan that needed mending. I didn’t consider how much longer it would make the process. However, it could be an interesting concept, making art out of discarded clothes.. who knows.

At least the sun is out 🌞

🍃 A week of inspiration 🍃

Very much enjoying long walks in over grown woods and barefoot strolls on sandy beaches to get my mind ticking. Also been devouring this beautiful copy of The Secret Garden, can’t believe I never read it as a kid!

The more you look at birds the more colours you see in their feathers - so beautiful! I’m thinking of experimenting with some little bird wall hangings this week.

🐦‍⬛ Blackbird 🐦‍⬛

I’ve been really enjoying drawing for the sake of it lately. I used to get such joy with experimenting with colour and materials. I’m hoping that eventually these experiments will lead me to some bigger pieces. Maybe drawings, maybe textile pieces. It’s hard to know what to focus on when you enjoy so many different techniques. But I’m excited by where things might be going.

When inspiration is low, turn to fluffy friends. Banjos beard and eyebrows are very fun to paint 💛🩵💛 x

These 2 paintings sold last week at the art fair which made me so happy! I’ve always struggled with my confidence when it comes to painting, and often feel like I hide behind the materials I use. But I think when it comes to making I find painting the most peaceful thing to do, and the most exciting. I think I want to explore this a bit more and see where it leads!x

A bit of a throwback to my degree work. I’ve been looking through old works as I curate some bits for an upcoming market at the weekend. If you’re in Alnmouth on Saturday and Sunday I will be part of which I am very excited about! Hopefully see you there! x

I’m not sure I can put into words how much yesterday meant to the both of us. Getting married in our favourite place with our favourite people. Our hearts are so full!

Thank you so much for the most beautiful ceremony we could ever imagine! And for photographs that we can’t believe are real, captured the day perfectly! Flowers by Eleanor’s flowers that were so so perfect! Honestly the best day of my life!

Also .campers for the use of their Campervan for our honeymoon!

I’ve created a lil drawn version of a tapestry I made last year. It probably should have been made the other way round, but I can never seem to do things conventionally.

I just loved the simplicity of this lil watering can, and pink and green are such a yummy combination.

I have been hyper-focusing on this for too long to the point that I don’t like it but I’ve spent ages on it so it needs to not just sit in a folder somewhere! Trying to learn some new skills and not beat myself up when they don’t go to plan.
