Who said beach weddings are just for destination weddings?!

Northumberland boasts some of the most amazing coastline in the UK and you’d better believe I’ll be bringing it into your wedding shoot if I can!

This month I want to wish a Happy Anniversary to Sara & Neil who were more than up for a beach photoshoot on their wedding day, and I’m so thrilled the weather played ball!

I am so excited to offer a day of dance mini shoots at my studio in Morpeth to capture your little dancers!

The 15 minute sessions are ideal for children between 3-10 years old (this is due to limited space in my studio)!

Please come dressed in your dance wear (dance shoes can be popped on in the studio) - either a simple leotard, your dance school uniform or go all out and wear a tutu, unfortunately I can’t offer any outfits.

From a torrential rain & hail to beautiful sunshine, what has been going on?!

With this in mind, take my top tip to expect the unexpected when it comes to weather on your wedding day! You may be planning for a bright blue sky July outdoor ceremony, but what if the heavens open?! What’s your wet weather plan?

Discuss this with your venue, but also with your suppliers who have been there, seen it all before!

P.S. I always carry a clear umbrella for your photos!

I know we’ve got the rest of 2024 to go, but trust me, your wedding year will roll around quickly!

What should I expect from my newborn photo shoot?

The session is developed around how well your baby settles and I will send you some tips prior to our appointment on how to best prepare.

The newborn studio sessions last for 2- 3 hours, this gives us lots of time to get baby settled, lots of time for feeding, changing and getting baby into a deep sleep.

Once asleep I will then position baby on the neanbag and let them settle into a natural position, I will then guide their hands, feet and head into different positions using wraps to create natural images of your sleeping baby, focusing on their unique features.

I aim to capture 5-7 posses and deliver 20-25 images via an online gallery for you to choose your final images from.

The Wildings is such a unique wedding venue in Northumberland, a perfect mix of rustic and industrial - plus it seats up to 300 guests, but also works beautifully for a more intimate gathering.

From the stunning church service at St. James, Morpeth then on to The Wildings, everyone had the best time!

When should I book my newborn shoot?

Don’t leave it too late! Obviously due dates are a guide, but we know they’re not exact.

I recommend getting in touch after your 20 week scan, and booking your shoot in for around 7 days after your due date. There’s some flexibility in my calendar to allow for Mother Nature doing her thing, but I can never guarantee a booking if it’s made last minute!

Studio Top Tip! 📷

When choosing your outfits for your studio photoshoot, try to all wear neutral colours, think tones of neutral - this helps the photos stay timeless (they wont date and can stay on your wall forever!) & you’re more likely to match!

My studio is a blank space for you to be yourselves in, but if you’re struggling for outfit ideas then save this post for later!

🕒 8-10 hours of photography on your wedding day. I would usually start 2 hours before the ceremony and stay until just after the first dance!

💬 Pre-wedding consultation to discuss ideas and timings (this is crucial!)

📷 400+ high-res images of your wedding day on an online gallery and then supplied on a Crystal USB Stick to keep forever (last image)
