I have recently began my training to become a Yin and Wellbeing Yoga teacher and I can't wait to share my journey with you!

Autumn Honey roasted carrot and pumpkin, chilli and lentil soup!
This was absolutely beautiful!
Roast the carrots and pumpkin in a tablespoon of honey, tablespoon of olive oil, dash of salt and crushed chilli's for 30 minutes at 200°
While they are roasting fry the onions in 1 teaspoon of olive oil for around 5 minutes, then add garlic and ginger, then add lentils (½ cup soaked over night) add 1/½ pints of veg stock, summer, add roasted veg and simmer for a further 15-20 minutes and serve adding a pinch of parsley on top.
2-3 generous bowls of heart warming soup 🍲
Day 15 and 16
I recently had a conversation with a client about hydration.
They struggle to drink enough water and one of the reasons was that it becomes an inconvenience during their day as they have to p*e more.
I explained that with this approach, yes, they may p*e less.
However, it will also lead to less energy, fatigue, muscle cramps, irregular bowel movements and potentially much worse in the future.
Moral of the story.... Drink more water, if you need to p*e then go when you get a chance.
Do not however put convenience over health, you will pay back the time gained back later on down the line.
Health is wealth.
I am going to attempt to do a yoga practice every day for a whole year!
I want to completely immerse myself in yoga while I am training to become a yoga teacher.
The key for me here is to listen to my body. If I feel tired or fatigued, I will do a shorter session or potentially a less intense form of yoga.
Yoga can be split up into Yin and Yang. Yin being more meditative and wellbeing focused.
Yang being more active and potentially more intense (the yoga that we usually see advertised).
There are multiple types of yoga and most of them contain mixes of Yin and Yang in different quantities I will be doing a mixture of both.
The idea here is to walk the walk as well as talk the talk! 🧘♂️

Give yourself the opportunity to just sit and be.
Take a deep breath in, exhale loudly through the mouth getting rid of any negative thoughts and sit quietly and breath in and out through your nose.
Set a timer for 5 minutes and just focus on your breathing. Any time a negative thought comes into your head, push it away. If a positive thoughts comes to you, embrace it.
The key here is to allow yourself to create some space in your busy mind.
Be kind to yourself and you will reap the rewards.

Like with my facial hair. I take Yoga seriously!
If you want results then you need to work at something. Take my moustache for example. It wasn't always this glorious! It took time and effort.
If you want to become more flexible, it takes time and effort.
If you want to improve your mindfulness, it takes time and effort.
If you want to improve your knowledge of yoga poses, guess what? It takes time and effort.
Focus on the basics. Stick to them and you will reap the rewards!

When I am not in the gym training people, learning Yin yoga, walking my dog, cycling or spending time with my lovely girlfriend and the many people I am lucky enough to call friends, these are two of my favourite things to enjoy. A cold beer and a good book. This particular beer and book were being enjoyed together a few weeks ago while me and Barbara were up in Dalmally near Oban for a long weekend. The views were stunning.

Hello! I am Yogee Dan!
I am a personal trainer and have been for over 10 years. I have recently started my training to become a Yin and Wellbeing Yoga teacher with and I couldn't be more excited to learn more about the amazing world of yoga and share my journey with you.
I decided to use this picture for my first post for a few reasons.
It is one of my favourite memories. It was taken while on holiday in Seychelles with my wonderful girlfriend she also took the photo. I can't believe she managed to get the bat in as well!
• It is a time where I was considering learning more about Yoga and potentially qualifying so I could teach it with others. However a few months later a little thing called Corona virus put that on hold.
• I am genuinely in awe looking at the huge bat flying around and Batman is without a doubt my favourite character in fiction.
• I was unconditionally happy in this picture. I want to feel like that more often and I want yoga to be a part of that happiness.
My plan is to share my yoga journey with others in the hope of helping them improve their wellbeing.
