Coming from Newcastle down under to play Newcastle upon Tyne this coming Monday... Rum Jungle Get tickets: https://www.ticketweb.uk/event/rum-jungle-cluny-2-tickets/13690303 "Rum Jungle are a hammock swinging between two palm trees, overlooking the ocean. The Newcastle band have emerged as a serious player in one of the country’s most lively music scenes. Touring with Lime Cordiale, Peking Duk, Hilltop Hoods and British India to name a few. The four-piece have developed a devoted fanbase off the back of their first two EPs Crazy Days and Sun & Smoke, and continue to develop their relaxed reggae-rock style with a new EP - EVERYTHING IS EASY. 7 tracks to soundtrack to a cruisy weekend afternoon, the drive home, lazy holidays by the water and endless sunsets." - www.rumjungleband.com

Curtis Eller Music is a banjo player, songwriter and rock & roll singer. The lifelong show business veteran began performing at the age of seven as a juggler and acrobat, but has since turned to the banjo because that’s where the money is. His band, Curtis Eller’s American Circus, has developed a devoted international following based on spellbinding stage performances that combine a dreamlike vision of American history with silent film style, physical comedy, and explosive rock & roll energy. The iconoclastic troubadour has spent twenty-five years relentlessly touring the clubs, theatres and festivals of North America, Europe, and Australia. This October Eller will return to the UK for a limited run of club dates, backed by a heavy-hitting, four-piece lineup of The American Circus featuring musicians from both sides of the Atlantic. Monday evening... Wandering Oak presents Omni, with support from Swine Tax and Stannington. Get your tickets online or from the bar: https://www.ticketweb.uk/event/omni-the-cluny-tickets/13689593 "The music of Atlanta trio Omni has always swung fast and hit hard. Souvenir, their fourth album and second for Sub Pop, packs their biggest punch yet. Inactive during the majority of the pandemic–the longest downtime in their history–they approached this recording with lots of pent-up energy. Guitarist Frankie Broyles, singer/bassist Philip Frobos, and drummer Chris Yonker converted their creative fuel into sharp, driving songs that land immediately, sporting chopping riffs, staccato beats, and wiry melodies."
Swami John Reis and the Bed of Nails... Featuring Swami John Reis of Hot Snakes and Rocket From The Crypt and Drive Like Jehu and many others! This Wednesday in The Cluny with support from IRKED. For the first time, Funke and the Two Tone Baby and Samantics join forces and head out on a double-headline UK tour taking in no less than 20-dates! You can see them in Cluny 2 on Fridaythe 15th of November! Get your tickets: https://www.ticketweb.uk/event/funke-and-the-two-tone-cluny-2-tickets/13771573 "Two sides of the same coin. Both chaotic and cathartic in different measures. Bright and energetic. Unhinged and esoteric. Both acts often find themselves compared to one another, but they are totally different in terms of musical style and performance. Sure, both artists use a Kaoss pad, but dig deeper and you will find their own unique set up of samplers, looping stations, triggers, guitars & more enabling them to both deliver a fresh and unique show. Funke coming from the beats, bass and dance angle and, Samantics; a more lyrically focused, pull-at-your-heartstrings, laidback affair. Both shows being utterly brilliant in their own way."

Wednesday 16th October, F54 presents... John Francis Flynn is a singer and multi-instrumentalist who creates contemporary music using traditional and folk material. His debut album “I Would Not Live Always” was released on Rough Trade imprint River Lea Records in 2020, earning rave reviews and winning 2 awards at the RTE Folk Awards. John masterfully unpicks traditional songs and rearranges them with an emotional force. They float in a surreal space between the past and the present, the analog and the digital, between love and tragedy... The unconventional use of instruments and jagged arrangements gives the work a magnetism by drawing you into its curious orbit of experimental folk. ON SALE NOW... Shunya (aka Alan Keary), Seb Rochford, and Dudù Kouate are all unique solo artists in their own right. When Shunya isn’t playing around the world with genre-defying cellist / singer Abel Seloacoe, he’s crafting his own sound using distorted violins and drum machines. When Seb Rochford isn’t collaborating with Brian Eno you’ll find him on stage doing experimental solo drum sets. When Dudù Kouate isn’t shredding with legendary free jazz group Art Ensemble Of Chicago he’s likely at home inventing new instruments that sound like alien birds. This show will encompass all three musicians’ individuality – glueing it together via improvisation and on the spot re-imaginings of each artists’ pre-existing songs. Expect unhinged electronics, free jazz, meditative soundworlds, contemporary classical compositions, and West African grooves.
