High Heaton Allotment plant sale continues on to tomorrow - Sunday 19th. We still have plenty of plants, vegetables and tomatoes left and have reduced the prices of the baskets and the planters. These plants can be bought for cash (card machine is out of order atm) at allotments on the corner of Duxfield Road and Holystone Crescent from 10-12 tomorrow. St Francis Church on Cleveland Gardens have also kindly agreed to let us sell some from their car park from 10.45am tomorrow so hope to see you there or at the allotments.

We are delighted to announce the return of our Plant Sale this year!
Along with the regular bedding and basket plants we will have a large range of vegetables - grown on by the allotment holders for the sale.
As you know it is still too risky to put your bedding outdoors now so why not buy your plants at a good size for a good price and put them straight out to make your summer displays?!

Things have been a bit quiet here at The Plant Whisperer - changes are afoot. I have decided that I am going to move away from selling plants and pots and return to garden designing and supplying plants and displays for offices.

It has been an absolute pleasure to meet so many lovely people in the past 18 months and so as a big thank you I am offering you a great deal on the remaining items I have in store.

Basically, if you buy any pot then you will get a free plant - the value of which ranges from £3 to £13!
I have the following plants to hand out when you collect your orders:

Clivia - one is flowering at the moment

I have left their pages on the store so you can see what they would have cost and details of size etc but you cannot buy them.

If you are after any particular plant then let me know and I will do my best to accommodate you but I can't promise anything as stock levels are varied so buy early.

CALATHEA FUSION WHITE - FLASH SALE £25 each

This striking plant has variagated leaves patterned attractively with shades of green interspersed with white and with beautiful pink backing to the leaves.
This Calathea must be kept in damp soil at all times, but definitely do not allow the plant to sit in water or in very wet soil. Think little and often as a watering policy.
Will enjoy being in a room that gets a medium amount of natural light - avoid bright, sunny windows should be avoided or her vibrant leaves will start to fade..
This plant prefers warm to high temperatures
It comes in a 14cm plastic pot and is approx. 35-40cm in height.
This plant is considered non toxic to pets and children
I am based in High Heaton and am flexible as to pick up times.

Looking as spectacular as promised I now have a small number of the Calathea Fusion White in 14cm pots and standing approx 40cm high. They are £62 each but this cheaper than anywhere else I can see them advertised for this size! They are beautiful plants with shades of green interspersed with bright white and the undersides of the leaves are a subtle pink/purple.
I have also got in some beautiful blue Oliver pots with patterning that reminds me of fossils for £22.99 - perfect for your 14cm plastic pots.

These cute Opuntia commonly known as Prickly Pear cactus are just about to send out some new 'ears' - ornamental and colourful they are no trouble to care for and cost only £6.49 each.

I have some very large plants of Aloe Vera in stock today at over 60cm in height, along with the unusual and beautiful Coniogramme emeiensis or Golden Zebra Fern as it is known due to its striped leaves.

It may be cold but at least the sun is shining and I couldn't resist buying some lavender plants to help us dream of blue fields full of lavender in Provence! Three nice sized plants in 12cm pots for £9.99 to plant in a sunny spot outside with their fragrant foliage and beautiful flowering stems
In addition I have some larger indoor plants - the attractive Schefflera Nora with their decorative finger like leaves with an umbrella like effect. Good sized plants in a 19cm pot and standing about 70cm high for £24.99.

New in store some Lemon scented rose Geranium plants.
The striking feature of this plant is the delicious lemony rose scent you get when gently rubbing its leaves.
A tender flowering plant that can be planted outdoors by May in the summer and bought back inside in the winter.
Vigorous grower with large pink flowers in the summer.
Currently In a 10cm plastic pot and approx 20cm high growth and will grow to approx 60cm in height.
They are reputed to keep away mosquitos but feedback appears to be divided - they do smell lovely to humans though!
Considered toxic so keep away from pets and children.
