Small is beautiful! Copford sawmill 20 mins up the road from Scott workshops. The hugely engaging Harry showed me some lovely wood and I bought some ash boards he has sawn and kiln dried. It grew just a few miles further along the road just over the border in Kent. I love this kind of shopping !

Hello Ben! Designer and Marque Co-founder Ben Fowler has been getting hands-on in the workshop... Here he is routing the rolling pins for his winning Chamfer table, soon available on the High St (watch this space!).
As a designer, to have the opportunity to get back on the bench, making furniture, is a real pleasure. "It's a long time since I have worked away from my computer-driven drawing board," says Ben. "I have enjoyed it hugely. What good fortune to have such a resource... With the pandemic and climate change, I think we must all embrace the simple pleasures of digging an allotment or swimming in the sea or practising a skill by hand."
