We are saddened to hear of the sudden loss of Carl Bevan, a brilliant musician and artist, and by all accounts a great person.

Joe was lucky enough to have been able to share a stage with him when they were both in The Lash, and they have remained good friends since.

Lots of love to Carl's family and friends, he will be hugely missed as an artist, but more importantly as a brilliant human being to those who knew and loved him.

Actually cannot believe I'm writing this, it doesn't feel real or fair. I am deeply saddened by the loss of Carl Bevan, my thoughts and sympathies are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

I first took to the Newport scene (that the Dolls pretty much started all those years before) under the wing of an unlikely group of misfits, with Carl at the helm. It was a baptism of fire as anyone who knew him can imagine. He taught me a lot of the world and I would certainly not be the person I am today if it wasn't for him.

There are very few people I know who are as dedicated to their family, friends and their craft as Carl, he was like a dog with a tasty bone. If he put his mind to something, he'd do it.

I've had the honour and absolute pleasure of sharing some of my best years with Bevvo, Erin, Chris & Kyle along with the many other weird and wonderful people he introduced me to.

There's not a week that goes by his that name doesn't pop up in conversation and that will never change.

You will live forever, my friend.

After a few days' rest (well, sort of), we can now reflect on 5 really great days at Beechwood Park for Summer Sessions.

A huge thanks to all of the brilliant artists who entertained really great crowds across the week.

Big shout out to Luke and Steve at and Shameless Promotion who we combined with to put together a great lineup.

And to Matt Pimm of Beechwood Park Community Group for glueing it all together and assembling a fantastic team of volunteers.

Finally, to Jon Baines doing a wicked job on sound duties as always.
