MCM have recently completed an 8 week project within L Block of the Isle of Wight College. The design and build brief was to deliver a conference suite and co working space. The project was a blend of alteration and new construction works and included glass partitions, air conditioning installation, new kitchenette, flooring and decorations. The facility is now handed over to the client and is scheduled to open to students in May 2022.

Clatterford Tuition Centre Phase 1, Watergate Road, Newport - 2022

MCM have recently completed the first phase of works at the Clatterford Tuition Centre; works comprised of the external recladding/reroofing and internal remodelling and refurbishment of 3no. existing modular buildings, including associated services, infrastructure and groundworks.

MCM have recently been awarded a phased contract by the NHS Trust to temporarily relocate the existing ambulance station into 11 modular units, refurbish and make alterations to the existing Ambulance station ready to accommodate an adjoining new build on the land adjacent. The current project completion is due summer 2022.

Old Boiler House Demolition, St. Mary’s Hospital, Isle of Wight - June 2021

MCM have recently commenced works at Enterprise House, St Cross Business Park. The project involves the refurbishment of the existing office area, into a new staff room and canteen area, meeting rooms and a large open plan office area, for the new children services department. The works are being undertaken on behalf of the Solent NHS Trust, with a completion date of July 2021.

Riverside Vaccine Centre, Newport, Isle of Wight.

MCM were contracted by to undertake the reconfiguration and refurbishment works to transform the riverside community hub into a mass vaccination centre for Isle of Wight residents in the fight against Covid-19. The centre opened on the 01/02/2021 and has the capacity to vaccinate 500 people per day. MCM are proud to be associated with a scheme of this nature and would also like to thank the following subcontractors for undertaking the works in a timely fashion on our behalf: Clarkes Mechanical, GTEK Electrical, Island Fire Alarms, Burts Build Clean, Apex Glazing and Signpost Express.

Summerfields Primary School - Internal Refurbishment & Roofing Works - 2020

Following a successful tender in early 2020, MCM were awarded the contract to partially refurbish Summerfields Primary School by the IWC. Works included the upgrading of mechanical & electrical installations, new fire alarm systems, re-roofing of the main hall and key stage 2 areas including high level windows, reconfiguration of circulation space, new food tech classroom, refurbished staff and pupil W/Cs, replacement of internal and external doors, new flooring and decoration works. The project was completed in 4 phases whilst the school was occupied and finished 4 weeks ahead of schedule thanks to the incredibly helpful staff and the collaborative approach adopted by all involved.

Doubloon, Seaview

A detached eco-friendly home, finely constructed, that shows a quality of build rarely achieved these days. This complex project required careful liaison between designers, contractors and craftsman to ensure construction was of the highest possible standard.

This project consisted of a traditional oak frame construction widely utilising mortice/tenon, oak peg connections and incorporated eco features that are numerous and well in excess of the standards demanded under Building Regulations. Eco features included a flush fitting photo voltaic slate tile system, solar collector system feeding a large capacity twin coil hot water tank, LED lighting, heat recovery systems, air source heat pump, solar controlled glazing and a rainwater harvesting system.
