Bank Holiday Monday, last one of the summer ☀️. So it hasn't started great, but maybe it will improve. Open to 5pm

The final weekend and Bank holiday of the Summer 🫢. The sun has made an appearance today and will hopefully still be about over the weekend. As some schools start back next week this is nearly the last opportunity to get out and about and with lots of tasty treats on offer theres no excuse. Open daily 10am to 5pm

So much for Summer!!! Maybe someday we'll get some Sun. However we remain open 10 to 5 serving up all our usual treats.

That's a wrap!!! Different weekend with the production team, definitely an experience. Back to normal now, and it's the 1st July!!! Summer holidays have officially begun, although, someone need to tell the Sun! Must be on strike 😆. Anyway cafe is open daily 10am to 5pm.

Evening all, due to production teams using the cafe this weekend (29th and 30th June) we have had to close a bit earlier than usual. The cafe will close at 3.30pm. We will do takeaways of tea/coffee/traybakes and scones from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

This weather!!! No sign of spring yet!! Unfortunately with the weather so bad, we don't think it would be worth opening again today, (Tiessay) hoping it brightens up tomorrow and the rest of the week. 🤞

Unfortunately due to Storm Kathleen forecast tomorrow, the Silent Valley will be closed tomorrow, for everyone's health and safety. Hope to see everyone on Sunday.

Welcome to Easter 2024, hopefully today's weather continues over the next few days. We cannot wait to see everyone up around the valley. Our cafe as always is open every day and when the time changes on Sunday, we will extend our opening hours to 5pm! Wishing all our customers a very Happy Easter.

It offers a number of walking trails for all abilities, making it an enjoyable place to visit in the midst of unique and delightful countryside that is also a haven for wildlife.

“NI Water provides a number of visitor facilities at the site including an information centre, conference centre and education centre – all housed in two historic bungalows that overlook the parkland’s wonderful views. A beautiful traditional tea room is also open daily throughout the year, exactly what you need after a walk through this beautiful part of the country.

“Silent Valley is a stunning site open for visitors to explore and enjoy, while also operating as a key strategic reservoir providing drinking water for a large part of County Down and the Greater Belfast area. It has celebrated some momentous anniversaries recently – 100 years of the Mourne Wall last year and recently 100 years since the cutting of the first sod which was the beginning of the reservoir we depend upon today. These anniversaries serve as a reminder of the age of the site as well as a time to reflect on NI Water’s continuing its good work to not only provide safe drinking water for the population it serves but also as a shared space for all to enjoy for the next 100 years.”

What a gorgeous morning we have here at the silent valley,😃 but there's quite a nip so wrap up warm and we are here to warm you up with Soup and hot chocolates 😋
