🏏 HAPPY CRICKET SEASON 🏏
Hi . And welcome to the 2024 Cricket season at Chudleigh Cricket Club!
Firstly I just wanted to say a few thank yous to the guys who have been working hard to make sure we are ready to go this year! In particular Paul Windsor-horne who has been hard at work on the square already so that we can start off with a belter next week and Paul Sercombe who has been getting the bar stocked and ready! As ever, thank you to everyone that has helped out!
Welcome to Manroz who has arrived yesterday and is playing already today! Everyone at the club extends a warm welcome to you and we look forward to getting to know you and seeing you around the club!
Good luck to the two new captains for the season. Manroz will be leading the ones and Ben Cowling starting his captaincy of the twos! Please give them all the support you can muster and help them out by a) keeping your spond up to date, b) being flexible in where you bat, bowl and which team you play in and finally c) taking wickets, holding catches and scoring boat loads of runs!
For those that don’t know, the colts was a huge success last year. We will be starting Friday night sessions again this week. Please could anyone who is available (to coach or not) try and get to the club Friday night 6pm to 8pm. It would be great to have as many people in chudleigh stash as possible and see each other before the season opener on the Saturday! It would also be great to get everyone back to the club after the Saturday games and welcome Manroz and see each other after a long winter!
I wish everyone at the club a successful season and look forward to seeing you all at training, on Friday nights and on the pitch on a Saturday!
Go well.
Mr Chairman 🏏
Sorry we are going to have to cancel the juniors meeting on Friday April 26 & rearrange for Friday May 3rd.
As we kick off the season in the coming weeks soon, we are having a colts/youth cricket meeting
📆 Friday 26th
⏰ 6pm in the clubhouse
We have made a big effort to get more young cricketers into the club over the last 6 months and need some extra help to run Friday nights and games/festivals over the summer. This could be helping with the BBQ, coaching, team managers etc … Don’t worry if you don’t have any experience 😊
We will be offering 5/11 and we have entered teams into Devon youth cricket league at under 12s and 14s
If you would like to be involved in any part of the
Colts/youth setup this year, we would love to see you. If you can’t make it and you would like to be involved then drop us a message and we will get back to you.
Looking forward to seeing you all very soon
🏏🖤💛

Unfortunately due to safety reasons we have made the decision to CANCEL tonight’s softball cricket.
We will be introducing new hardball cricket training sessions starting on Wednesday 28th June & will be continuing through until the end of the summer .
The aim of these sessions will be to further develop the key skills of young cricketers to be able to be playing hardball cricket by the end of the season.
These sessions are open to all children who are part of the older group of our Friday night cricket. The session will start at 6pm-7:30pm at the club. All equipment will be provided. Please can we ask that all children register when entering the field on a Friday night so that we can keep a accurate account of numbers . For insurance reasons we need to know exactly who is taking part in the softball cricket.
