Just send me a little message.ππ¨
Polymath of creativity - painter, coloured pencil portraitist, decoupager extraordinaire, jewellery maker, knitter and rescuer of rubbish/treasure.
Can't add anything more to this!
Any chance to raise my profile is a great thing! π
Such a bargain to feel all warm and fuzzy inside! π
Introducing Winston, a fox red lab - I loved the colours that I had to use for his beautiful coat and I am delighted to learn that the recipient (he was commissioned as a gift) is over the moon with him. I am doubly pleased that she thinks his nose is perfect, as it was an area not without challenges.π
On Bristol board, using mostly Polychromos with some Prismacolor and Luminance. I think it's about 10" x 9".
A few years ago, I was contacted by a lovely lady, who asked me if I could do a drawing of her daughter, using an old, faded photo as reference; "Sarah & Mickey" was the result.
A few more years passed and I was contacted again, this time asking if I could do a portrait of Bill, a rescued greyhound.
This portrait trio with the addition of Ronnie (another rescued greyhound), who I completed only last year.
Each one of these portraits was an absolute pleasure to work on, although Bill's and Ronnie's collars weren't without their challenges! π
Please will all you lovely people out there who have pieces of art from me, in particular for whom I have created portraits, leave me a few words (possibly - preferably - with a photo) so that my review count can start to reflect my story as an artist.
To leave your review, go to "Details" and click on the "Rating" heading.
Thank you very much for your assistance

Just messing about on some pastel paper (while I'm waiting for some new pencils to be delivered that I need to complete my current commissioned portrait).
It's pretty obvious what the bird on the left is but can you tell what kind of bird the one on the right is?
I thought that "Blue Tabby" was my first coloured pencil drawing but I totally forgot about this one that I did about 30 years ago, when I was just messing around drawing cats for my own pleasure.
This is Brandy, who was one of Esme's kittens. I do have another picture of a Tabby cat that I did (around 25 years or so so) but I can't locate it at the moment.
I thought I'd lost this photo of a drawing that I did a while ago. I like to keep a visual record of my commissions, so I was glad to find it again.
The bottom image is the photo that I was sent of Tipsy (with a partial ear) and the top image is my drawing that I did of this gorgeous kitty.
Faber Castell Polychromos on Clairefontaine heavy duty paper.
My aim this year is to complete at least one commission per month (due to health reasons, this has recently been a challenge).
I'm doing well so far, completing TWO in January and being well on my way with drawing number three (allotted to February).
I (hopefully) have another one for March, which takes me through to a blank April.
Any takers for my April space?
My drawing of my lovely Esme; I will always miss her, she was a perfect domestic cat. π€

Ronnie is finished.
Polychromos, Prismacolor and Luminance on Bristol board.
I've finally crept out of the shadows to begin working again.
This is the start of a coloured pencil greyhound portrait. I feel a bit like I'm learning how to ride a bike again - wish me luck!
At the end of this month (I'm giving myself a cooling off / change of mind period), I will most likely be cancelling my FB account altogether.
I find so many aspects of this unreal existence cause me massive negative emotions, that it has contributed to quite a serious downturn in my well-being. I simply can't cope with 'living' in a virtual world with no real, personal contact with anyone.
Looking further ahead (at the end of this financial year), I will also be winding up my laughable business "Christine Bowron Artist" because I can't take any more of the constant (indirect) rejections of not being able to sell any of my creations. I mean seriously, what's the f***ing point?!
Unsure whether the newly rebranded PurpleGiraffe57 will remain, although if it does, it will be on Etsy and Pinterest only.
I've decided to rename my shop in an attempt to finally "build a brand" and what better than my lovely purple giraffe to help me in this rather late venture.

Whether you would like a drawing of a pet, a person or maybe even your house or car, commissioning a portrait from me is simple; just email me [email protected] (or use Facebook messenger) to let me know your requirements and ask for a quote. You can also view my pricing guide, examples of previous commissions and customer comments on my website: www.christinebowronartist.co.uk
Depending on the size required, I spend at least twenty hours on each drawing, often longer. I use a combination of the highest possible quality coloured pencils to ensure the best colours and lightfastness in my work. These include Faber Castell Polychromos, Derwent Artists & Procolour, Prismacolor Premier & Verithin and Caran DβAche Luminance & Pablo. I also use a variety of drawing surfaces (all high quality and acid free) such as Clarefontaine heavy duty cartidge paper, Bristol board and drafting film.
All drawings are backed with stiff backing board and cellophane wrapped for protection. A 20% non-refundable deposit is required when you book your portrait, the balance becoming due on completion, following approval of your finished drawing by emailed digital image. UK p&p is included in the cost (Royal Mail tracked and signed next day delivery) but mounting and framing is not included.
