💷School Essentials Grant for grocery workers💷

This is an email we’ve received into our store today, from Henderson Wholesale Ltd (Spar). They are a great company to work with.

I just thought Spar Ballyduff could share this information with the wider community as it may well apply to staff in other grocery retailers.

Can you pass onto any relevant staff member who you think is eligible to apply?

How do I apply?

The School Essentials Grant is open from 6:00am on Wednesday 14th June 2023.

You need to visit School Essentials Grant - GroceryAid to apply online once the grant opens.

Applications will close once the fund is spent so the sooner you apply after the grant opens the better!

Who is eligible for the grant?

To get a GroceryAid School Essentials Grant, you need to meet the following criteria:

You’ve been working for a grocery employer for at least six months
You’re already receiving Universal Credit / Child Tax Credit for school-age children (aged 4-18 as of 31st August 2023)
Your household savings/balances are less than £4,000
You haven’t received a financial grant from GroceryAid since 1st April 2023

What do I need to apply?

You will need to be ready to upload onto the application form copies of:

A current payslip that clearly shows your name, employer and NI number
Your current Universal Credit statement showing the payment amount, full breakdown (child element) and your name address
If you receive Child Tax Credit you can provide a pdf of your current bank statement showing your Child Tax Credit entry.

The application form is quick to complete but the most common reason for rejection is that the correct information has not been uploaded.

Please make sure you upload all documentation so you don’t miss out.
