I made it to the final day of the challenge....whoop whoop 🙌

Here is my final presentation for my clients open plan kitchen dining room design showcasing the items I selected as well as original concept and colour scheme - I think it all ties together nicely!

Day 4 (catch up!): LETS SHOP!

Yey! Finally my favourite bit about being an interior designer…..THE SHOPPING👏🏻🤗🛍

It’s actually not as easy as it sounds….it’s super important to select pieces that are congruent with the original concept and colour scheme to be able to bring it to life…and also because this is the look and feel my client is most propbably getting excited about! ☺️

Another important factor is the budget and sticking to it! So that can influence the particular suppliers I choose…

BUT one BIG, Infact HUGE benefit of working with an interior designer is that clients benefit from their trade discounts with suppliers. I like to think of it as getting your design for FREE because otherwise you would be spending (sometimes) around 30% more…WOW!

Today I’ve developed my concept to include a colour scheme that’s cohesive with the original inspiration and that will influence the design.

My client prefers soft subtle colours and wants to feel relaxed in her new room, so I’ve tried to keep them calming and warm and very natural!

This week I’m taking on an interior design challenge. It’s 5 days of challenges where I will step through the interior design process for a client. I’m going to share the outputs each day here so you can join in on the process with me and share your feedback🤗

Day 1: BIG PICTURE BIG IDEAS

This is the concept board for my client based on their brief. I was inspired by their love of walking their dog on the beach and listening to the sound of the waves, the colours are soft and light which is in keeping with my clients taste and I have added warmth and texture with natural wood and fabric. Overall I wanted to keep it clean and simple to reflect the minimal and organised feel my client is hoping to achieve in the room makeover.

I’ve got all the feels for our new en-suite that’s very nearly finished! Thanks to for all their hard work and attention to detail so far!

I’m going with a blue wall above the pair of vanity basins which is going to bring the whole look together…new round LED mirrors and some chunky wooden shelves to go in and then it’s complete 👌🏼😊

Eek! The stud wall is in…and the size of the mega shower tray has been marked out….this en-suite really is all about the shower!!!! 🚿☺️

The bathroom suite arrived yesterday and I had a sneak peak at the brass fixtures and fittings, they’re so so gorgeous!

What a difference my new electric diffuser from has made (it was a very generous birthday gift btw🎁!!!) I’ve used the Spa Restore fragrance oil which creates a calming and soothing scent which carries throughout the house✨

Pssst…Either side of the picture are scattered toys and Christmas decorations yet to go up, but let me just have a moment to imagine my home is as serene as it smells right now🤪😜

Got a bit creative this afternoon with some Christmas tree cuttings and fake mistletoe🎄

Inside info: I used command strips to adhere it to the mirror and wrapped a battery operated string of lights around it all to keep it in place 👍🏼☺️✨

After months of being out of service due to having to rip it all up to fix a leak, we are finally starting our main bedroom en-suite refurb!

One of the things I love the most about Studio McGee’s style is the light and bright spaces they create. But I love this guest room design from the Sunset Home makeover, where they contrast light walls with deeper, darker tones which makes the space feel cozy and intimate. Gorgeous ✨

Design tip: You don’t need to paint your walls in dark colours to bring tone contrast to your space. If you have a lot of light and bright finishes or pieces in one area, try balancing the look by adding furniture, textiles (like a rug or cushions) or decor and art in deeper colours!

Really pleased with how this calm cosy living room has come together! My clients wanted the warmth of tan leather furniture and the use of some colour but overall wanted it to feel like home and I’m thrilled they’re as happy with the result as I am☺️✨

My en-suite....this has been on the list since we moved into our forever home 3 years ago (wow! where has that time gone!) So while I wait for the time to come to start work on it I’ve added a few touches to make it a bit more like me😉Thanks to for the beautiful aromas, lotions and potions I’ve picked for this area 😉
