Super smooth bit of Yew. Inspired by "Pillows" I've seen other turners make! Loads of character in this piece.

Hello everyone, a Happy New Year to you all! Hope y'all had a lovely festive season. 

 I'm posting here today presenting some of my favourite makes over last year & to ask if anyone out there knows of a Woodworker in need of an extra hand / you are one yourself! - Preferably in the Norfolk / Suffolk area. 

 I have fair experience with most common Woodworking machinery. A level 2 Diploma in Bench Joinery, and not too shabby with a lathe. Oh, I'm dead nice as well. 

  Looking for part time work, 3-4 days a week so I can continue my own ventures alongside! 

 If anyone is in the know, please do get in touch.

You know it's a good moustache when it can hold the cream of a Guinness.. right? Anywhoos, this moustache is really growing on me. SO! - I got one week left of this face fungus to go, if you'd like to check out my highlights for a lil' bit about why I'm doing this to myself & maybe help me reach my targets that'd be super cool. Oh hi there, it's me Gav (the Gould). Lathe also says hello. Now, if you look very closely & follow my fingers to their fingery tips you may notice I am sporting a rather fetching moustache. Yes, I know, thank you. It's Movember time! 
Anywhoos, I thought this year I'd try raise some real money for some causes that are close to my heart..

First up, - My Dad had Cystic Fibrosis & on top of that Crohns disease. Despite this, he was usually an upbeat fella, smart as a whip & would crack jokes at whatever came his way. 

Next up, - After my Dad's death, my Mum had a terrible time with her mental health. Severe depression & anxiety took over. In my opinion she didn't receive enough attention / support at the time - sadly leading to her death, by her own doing. She had an exceptionally warm heart, always caring and welcoming. Keeping a lovely home & cooking up some mean food, considering we didn't have an oven! I know! Electric hobs all the way. 

I was just 16 when I lost my parents & I have had quite a turbulent life over the years. Only discovering that I am Bi-Polar Type 1 in 2017. But hey, I'm 32 now - and everything is going rather nicely. 

 There are many people & places who I thank for where I am today. Y'all know who you are.

A set of Zebrawood bud vases finished with beeswax polish, up for grabs! 👍

Roughed out a couple of big chunks of oak today, they have a few cracks so will be getting filled with resin. After that, they'll be back on the ol' lathe to be turrnnneddd into bowls. Also here's a few pics of a Zebrawood vase that"s just about done! 👍
