Well done to our Equine staff and students who played a big part in the running of the Blackwater Farm One Day Event! A fab day had by all!
Thank you to Blackwater Farm for inviting our team to support the day!
⭐️Yesterday marked the end of our season of One Day Events and what a fabulous event we had!⭐️
We cannot thank our amazing volunteers enough- all our regulars who have helped all season and also the Eastern College staff and students who gave it their all yesterday!
We were honoured to host qualifiers for the British Connemara Pony Society all of this year and overjoyed to end on the high of their performance day yesterday that welcomed so many new competitors and wonderful Connemara ponies.
Of course none of this would be possible without all of you competitors, horses and ponies! The support you give us every year is incredible and we hope you’ve enjoyed your days of competition and training with us too ❤️
Our fantastic photographer at our One Day Events all year has diligently captured your achievements so please go and support them too-

🌟🐴 RECRUITING HORSES FOR SEPTEMBER 2021 🐴🌟
At Easton College, we run a variety of courses from Level 1 to Level 6 in Equestrian Studies to support students in their understanding, knowledge and skills required within the Equine industry. A key part of our students education is working with a variety of horses in state of the art facilities in order to support their knowledge application and skills development. We are now recruiting horses for the new academic year and we have provided some information in the attached image if this may be of interest to you or someone you know 🌟
Maybe you are a student coming to the college, or someone heading off to University, or someone who’s circumstances have changed? This could be a great option for you 🐴🌟
Please do help us share this post to spread the word 🐴🌟
For further information, please contact us via email- [email protected]
Some great opportunities to get involved in 🤩🌟
Volunteer Opportunities We are a busy competition venue, hosting many events throughout the year including the British Dressage Winter Regional Championship and the PetPlan Summer Area Festival, and we rely very heavily on a loyal group of fantastic volunteers, but we are ALWAYS looking for more to join the team. If you ca...
It’s Friday 🤩 and this means that it is also the last day before a well earned half term break 🌟
Our students and staff have all worked incredibly hard this half term and we are very proud of them 🌟. Even the horses have been busy trying to help with marking 🙊🐴🌟. We know there is still one last push coming up to get all final assessments and grades uploaded to support our students in achieving the qualifications they deserve.
We have half term catch up club happening next week and students needing to catch up will be asked to attend. Some of the college buses will be running to support this, so please make sure our students check their Blackboard page for more information.
We hope that you all have the best bank holiday weekend and enjoy (safely) the nice weather ☀️
Q&A Session with Deputy Principal | Easton College You can apply for multiple courses in a single application. We suggest having a backup option and applying for at least two courses.
Goats 🐐?! I bet you wonder why we are posting about goats?!
Well, our super Year 2 Equine students had a very different start to the day...they helped our Level 1 Animal Students who needed to practice delivering to other learners about the health checking and handling of goats.
A huge thank you for embracing something different and helping out other students on another course. We hope the goats weren’t too cheeky as we know they can be a bit mischievous at times 😂
🚨WE ARE BACK🚨
So sorry that we have been quiet the last few weeks...as all our students know, it has been a very busy time responding to all our awarding body needs and ensuring our students have the best opportunity to complete any remaining assessments to support them in achieving the grades they deserve.
We want to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate our students so far on their hardwork and determined attitudes over the last few weeks...they really have made us proud 🌟
We are nearly there in what has been another different and challenging year...a few more weeks to help tidy up assessments and look at support for our students next steps before we can all have a well earned break for the summer.
We have lots to share with you over the next few weeks for current and future students, so please keep a look out for any updates 🤩
🌟Happy Half Term🌟
We have made it to the end of an incredibly challenging term, but one that has continued to remind us just how awesome our students are. They have adapted to online learning and then returned to college, all while keeping on top of their assessments and studies. They have understood the importance of easing the horses back into work and been super stars with our COVID control measures and cleaning regimes. We really are so proud of each and everyone of our students 🌟.
Our Head of Area will be in touch with all students via email next week to confirm the plans for after Easter and coming back to college.
Message to all students- It is so important that you have a break over these next 2 weeks, as well as use the time to get on top of your assessments...it will be very busy when we return, so ensure you are ahead, rather than behind 🙌🏻. If you are unsure of what you need to do, please contact your Tutor, Course Leader or Head of Department.

The beautiful Lenny, along with all of the horses at college, have thoroughly enjoyed seeing our learners return to college this week 🤩🐴 Thank you to Eloise for sharing this lovely photo of Lenny with us 🥰🐴
Our last L2 group continued the great work on Friday. They battled the changing weather and embraced the new ways of working (even bossed the new cleaning regime).
As a teaching team, we have absolutely loved being back with our learners and horses and we hope that all learners have felt good coming on site in difficult times. We couldn’t be more proud of you all 🌟.
Let’s continue the great work over the next 2 weeks before the Easter break🌟🐴🌟
Another day and another super star group 🤩🌟
We honestly have been blown away this week by students that have battled whatever the weather has thrown at them as well as the new ways of working 🌟. Today we had a small group of L2s, but that didn’t stop them getting stuck in, with a smile on their face and ensuring that all the horses were catered for. Also, you can tell how pleased the horses are to see our students this week, which is so lovely to see 🥰🌟
A little snippet of their lunge session this afternoon 📸.
🌟
What happened to the weather today 🤷🏻♀️?!?
Despite the rain and wind, we welcomed back another set of awesome students who didn’t let the poor weather stop them getting stuck in, embracing new ways of working and dealing with whatever was thrown at them 🙌🏻🐴🌟
We look forward to welcoming our L2s across the next 2 days, and hope it will be a great end to a successful week back 🤞🤩
And another successful day in our Equine department 🤩. Our first group of Year 1 students for the week did a great job and were straight back into the swing of things, working in line with our COVID measures and supporting the horses in easing back in to college life 🐴🌟
Also a huge shout out to our teaching and yard team who have worked their socks off to support our students and horses in returning to campus in difficult times 🌟🐴🌟
We just want to say a huge thank you to the students that returned to campus today. We know there were many nerves coming back, but we were so impressed with their attitudes and adherence to the rules, despite a variety of IT challenges and some cheeky horses who were clearly a little bit excited to see our students back 🙊🐴.
Our Year 2s did a super job today 🌟. Let’s hope the rest of the week follows the same pattern with our L3 Year 1s and L2s and we continue to have a successful and safe return to campus 🌟🐴🌟
🌟Return To College🌟
Students- please check your emails/ Blackboard Announcemet page for details about returning to college next week and what to expect. Your timetable for the week has also been uploaded.
We are in this together so let’s ensure we do the right things and support each other always 🌟

We know these are nervous times, but we are doing all we can to support a safe return to college site and it will be important that we all play our part. College will look and feel a bit different, but it is really important to ease the horses and ourselves back into working safely onsite. Our Head of Department will be sending out all you need to know later today, so please do keep an eye on your emails and read through before your return. It is important you keep talking to us, so if you are unsure or have further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask 🌟
