Being a new year I decided to do a Movement assessment and Performance tests as its been a few months since the last set of tests, and we wanted to see if the hard work before xmas has paid off.
I didn't film all of it so here are some clips that I did remember to film.
I will analysis these and compare against the last set of tests we did and that will create the basis for the next block of training.
Session 3 of the week, and finishing off this weeks plan with another lower body day.
The goal of this session is still to develop as much power as I can but this time with a few body weight plyometrics. The reason behind this is because we can train as much as we like to create power with a barbell but if we don't know how to apply that force it doesn't help sports performance. This is where ploys come in handy because they teach us to apply the force.
Yes and I know I need to work on my landings!!

I started training with in November 2020 where we started training outside because of lockdown. It was Cold, Wet, Windy and we even trained through some Snow at one point. But though all of that I can't question your commitment to the training sessions.

Here a snippet of a S&C session with a Cricketer during a General Prep phase. The goal of this phase is to just build up her general athletic qualities.
After the movement based warm up (not filmed) we stated with some sprinting technique and deceleration work. Cricket is a running sport so we need efficient sprinters.
Then some force development movements, we are not too worried about speed more how much force she can create.
Some power work with some hang power cleans, we are relatively new to these so technique needs some work but we are making some good progress.
Finishing off with some general strength work.

The focus if these sessions are still stability and general strength but we are progressing to some more advances exercises and from bilateral to unilateral movements.

What do you do when both of your athletes come to your session with back pain, due to the high volume of training they have done in prep for a comp in a couple of weeks.
We understand that it's more important for them to be able to skate than lift in the gym.
So we drop everything we are doing and go through some movement that will hopefully relive some of their pain so they can skate this week.
With niggles like these sometimes movement is the best medicine. It would have been easy for them to decide not to come but it shows how determined they are to keep improving.

I started working with Finn in April, with the goal of getting bigger and stronger.
Finn had only trained in his own gym, so we had to make sure that technique was on point and some new habits were learned. We spent a lot of time cleaning up his deadlift technique.
We tested strength at the start and added 17.5kg on to his deadlift in 3 months.
