Eaton Ladies
Eaton Ladies is a fun and friendly section of Eaton Golf Club with members of all ages, abilities and experience.
We enjoy spending time together, playing our fantastic course and socialising in the clubhouse.
Congratulations to the Eaton team of Nick Sperrin, Harry Thomas and George Morris for winning the team prize yesterday at the Norfolk Amateur Championships. Good luck to all Eaton members playing in the final today!
The gardens group had another productive session this morning. What a difference! Great job and our thanks to all involved.
Another fun Monday evening with our Academy ladies and member 'activators'.
We couldn't let Siobhan's retirement go unnoticed! Congratulations!!! Now you can really hit the golf course!
A fabulous and emotional day yesterday at Eaton as Roger Finney, his family and team of helpers hosted a charity event to raise money for Rory's Hope. Over £16,000 was raised to help fund research into sudden infant death syndrome.
It was great to see the Eaton Ladies team take third place. Congratulations to Ann Lockhart, Sally Benton, Debbie Pollard-Barns and Liz Edwards.
Congratulations to the Gillieson team for their 3 - 0 win against Feltwell at home this afternoon.
The course looked glorious for yesterday's Freehold Trophy, with 146 players enjoying the sunshine, great golf and a bbq. Great to see three ladies/mixed teams tying for third place!
The endless rain failed to dampen the spirits of the players competing in the second round of our Spring Event today. Massive congratulations to Larissa Miller for recording a fantastic net 60 in her second round on Tuesday to win the Varnon Cup, division 1 handicap trophy. Kay Bailey won the division 1 scratch Davidson Walker cup, while the division 2 trophies were won by Margaret Defoe (Ladies Scratch Cup) and Carol Cooper (Walter Bunting Cup). What a tough bunch! Volunteers from our gardens working party got stuck in from 6am this morning, clearing the car park, potting up plants and generally helping James with garden jobs - and mostly in the rain! Hard work, but the results are fantastic. Such a difference!
Well done to everyone who's completed Round 1 of our Spring Event! The leaderboard can be found in the Results area on BRS. Good luck in Round 2 on Thursday. Presentation will be approx. 3pm.
It was lovely to welcome Lyndsey Hewison's daughter, Ellie, to the club today to present a cheque to Tristan Cork, founder of Finnbar's Force. The total of over £4,200 was raised by the Ladies section during Lyndsey's year as Ladies captain through a variety of fundraising activities. Ellie explained how the Hethersett charity was very close to Lyndsey's heart, offering essential support to families facing a diagnosis of childhood brain tumour.
We were all incredibly moved by Tristan's heart-breaking account of his own experience of losing his five year old son and impressed to hear how the charity has grown over years. It is now due to open a centre, The Den, in the heart of Eaton village to provide even greater support. We send our best wishes to all those involved.

A fantastic final featuring two superb golfers. Congratulations to you both! We thoroughly enjoyed hosting and watching some inspirational golf.
The course is looking magnificent - all set for our Spring Event! The Sunday ladies completed their Round 1 yesterday. Hoping the weather stays as glorious for the rest of the week.
Sharon, Sally and Kay each put up a great fight but lost to three fabulous competitors. Now we can enjoy watching more inspirational golf from the quarter finalists.
Our fab four did us proud in the first round of the Norfolk Championships. A long day of 36 holes in the sunshine. Best wishes to Sharon, Sally and Kay tomorrow in the matchplay knockouts.
Fabulous displays throughout the clubhouse today thanks to our talented flower team. They've been much admired!
A stunning day to start the Norfolk Ladies Championships here at Eaton.

Last chance to enter the Eaton Golf Club summer knockouts!!! These are a great opportunity to gain matchplay experience and play with different members. There is a ladies knockout for all handicap levels, and the new Lyndsey Hewison Scratch Trophy. Also the Arthur Locke Bowl mixed knockout - it would be good to see more ladies enter this! You can enter via BRS or the club website. Here is a useful guide if you need assistance!
