Fantastic work from the BBA Karate team who attended the WTKA British Open on Sunday!

All of our students gave excellent performances across various styles, including traditional Karate, creative forms, weapons and Kumite! As you can see, we came home with a haul of medals! 🏆

We’re now looking for match ups for our next event on Saturday 22nd June, where we will be hosting our first ‘halo rules’ fight night at our Norwich Academy.

😇 In halo rules, the head is a legitimate target area, however you cannot make contact with the head.
⛑️ Undefended techniques finishing within a 10cm radius of the head WILL SCORE.
🦶🏻 The body remains as a contact target area.

🧠 Why halo rules?
Because not everyone who enjoys combat sports wants to be hit in the head or knocked out.
We’ve also done our research into the dangers of receiving repeated blows to the head… it’s not good.

We’re looking to match anyone aged 7+ in the following disciplines:
▪️Halo Rules Boxing
▪️Halo Rules Kickboxing
▪️Halo Rules Points Fighting
▪️Halo Rules Kumite

🗒️ There is a £30 entry fee per competitor which includes 5 tickets for you to give (or sell) to your family and friends.

🏢 Space at our Dojo is at a premium and will, therefore, be reserved for ticket holders only.

30 years ago today, our very own GMV stepped into the ring to face Vitali Klitschko for the ISKA Europe World Super Heavyweight Kickboxing Title…
and what a night it was.

Sadly, Vitali is now facing the most formidable opponent of his life and it’s outside of the ring.

We send you our best wishes, Vitali, and we hope you can continue your knockout career in your quest for peace in Ukraine.

🥋 KATA SEMINAR 🥋

On Saturday 11th May we will be holding a Kata seminar in which we will cover the Kyu grade Katas from O Jang to Koryo.

For this reason, the seminar will be open to green belt BBA students and above.

This is a perfect opportunity to brush up on your Katas with GMV and Master Emmerson, especially if you have a black belt grading approaching!
