Still more to be had this weekend! π
βοΈ Summer Holiday Thank You Message βοΈ
Weβd just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in an activity, spent money in the shop or gave a donation this summer β youβre helping to keep the mill open so we can inspire the next generation of mathematicians, scientists, artists and historians.
Staff and volunteers welcomed 4000 people through the gate, with many of you bringing young bakers, gamers and scientists to take part in various weekly activities. It was wonderful to see so many people visiting!
As a charity weβve felt grateful for the donations people have given this summer. But if anyone would like to make an additional contribution you can do so by clicking the βdonateβ button at our online fundraising page here:
https://www.justgiving.com/greenswindmilltrust
Lastly, a shout out to our amazing passionate and dedicated team of volunteers without whom we simply could not do it πππ

See you on the Hill Millers!
This week, local sneinton artist and gardener Catherine Cooper held workshops with the Green's Windmill and Science Centre volunteer group. The salt dough artefacts created will be part of an ensable on the Mill on Hill parade happening on saturday 15th july at 10.30 from Edale Road.
Volunteering at Green's Windmill involves looking after the shop and the garden but the best thing are the socials that happen around 4 times a year. Everyone loved getting creative with the dough at the social and there was quite a few bread puns!

Janice B Owen is coming to Mill on the Hill this summer! Janice is an established writer and poet. πππ
A once resident of Sneinton, Janice has devised a poetry set based on links to the place, the influential writers and industrial landscapes of the environs of the βMill on the Hill.β The literary journey will weave through authored pieces of the past to present day, culminating in the first public performance of her Greenβs Mill inspired poem filmed with Kate Fox and part of a Nottingham City Arts project.

The Bread Witch β is often found wandering the countryside singing traditional English folk songs that tell stories of times gone by, so you can imagine our delight when said she'd join us at Mill on the Hill!π§ββοΈπ
Many of these songs are seasonal and feature the traditional crafts of baking and milling, many are also local to Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands.
One of Julieβs other loves is baking real bread and sharing that knowledge with others. Her βEat, Bake, Singβ project combines bread, singing and the outdoors to bring people together through these shared experiences.
Here's Elsa, our Mill on the Hill Parade Coordinator, meeting with David Mellen with a giant rolling pin to say a HUGE thank you to David Mellen, Neghat Khan, Gul Khan, the Dales Ward Councillors for supporting our little festival. π€
