Some people try to use alcohol or drugs to change the way they feel or avoid unpleasant thoughts. Alcohol and drugs can sometimes make the problem worse and cause other issues later on.
Please don’t be afraid to talk to someone about how you’re feeling.
You can contact YoungMinds or Kooth who offer mental health support for young people.

We're looking for volunteers to help with this year's Summer Reading Challenge!
Every year all Inspire libraries take part in the national Summer Reading Challenge. Children aged 4 – 11 are challenged to read six books over the summer.
We are looking for volunteers aged 14+ across our libraries to encourage children to join and complete the Challenge, explain to them (and their parents and carers) how it works, talk enthusiastically with them about the books they have read, and help them to choose new ones!
Volunteers will need to be free for a two/three hour session per week during the six week school holidays.
Up to the challenge, or know someone who might be? Find out more and apply at your local library: https://bit.ly/3Kzq16P

Today is Time to Talk Day, a UK-wide campaign to get people talking about mental health which has been running since 2014.
https://timetotalkday.co.uk/
Through talking about our experiences of mental health with friends, family or colleagues, we can create supportive communities, reduce mental health stigma, and change lives.
In any given year, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem. Opening up the conversation about mental health enables us to support ourselves and others and can be an important first step to someone getting the help they need.
A little reminder to our youth club members that we are closed this evening so that staff can attend training. We'll be open as usual on Friday.
Busy session at youth last night. We hosted a researcher from the University of Nottingham, who wanted some young peoples views on vaping/smoking. Lots of youth worker conversations with young people about school, friendships and fallouts . And of course there was some baking done by one of the newer members 😋🍫🍩🎨🖍️
At Monday night junior club, we had a go at making easy homemade vegetable spring rolls. First time we've had a go, will need to practice the rolling technique, but they were tasty!
