Pooch Paddock at Brightwell Vineyard
Enclosed dog walking field for private or group hire. 2 acres of grassy paddock.
Short notice! The Rush Court nursing home will be having a dog show tomorrow afternoon so please be aware there may be noise and barking.
Sorry, they've just let me know today.
Just another reminder folks that I'd much rather you cancel, even if it's last minute, than risk your dogs health. Anything over 25c is a dodgy temperature for our furry friends so please don't feel you have to honour a booking if it's looking too hot. You know your dog best, if they're stressed or lethargic just let them rest in the shade with plenty of water.
Hi folks,
Please ignore the various signs still in and around the paddock for the festival and use the normal gate as usual. Everything has been closed and secured, the signs will be taken down gradually around bookings.
Thanks Z x
Hi folks, it's that temperature again when we need to be extra careful about taking our dogs outside.
The paddock will remain open but please be extremely aware of your particular dog's tolerance to heat and don't encourage them to run about.
I have opened the 7-8pm slot so you can shift into the evening when it's cooling down.
Take care x
This is Lenny! He is an 11 year old rescue who's had very limited exposure to the outside his whole life so is being slowly rehabilitated. Here he is enjoying the long grass and sunshine! Thank you Heidi for sharing his story and this adorable photo with me 🥰
Hi Folks, these three are going to be grazing the vineyard opposite the Pooch paddock from tomorrow. Unfortunately the jersey calves look a lot like Roe deer from a distance so if your dog has a particular weakness for seeing deer please let me know.
I've put a note in the field shelter explaining more.
Happy walkies!
Hi Folks,
The 6-7pm slot is now available every day. I'm holding off on opening another late one until the weather improves and the grass starts growing. Fingers crossed for some sunshine!
Happy walkies!
I've just opened up the 5-6pm space now it's a bit lighter. If you're booking that slot you will still need to bring a torch if it's cloudy as it's still quite gloomy towards the end of the session.
Hurrah for spring!
Hi Folks, just a reminder as the temperatures become daft again: Dogs are not able to tolerate high temperature as well as humans can. The field is available and I am not policing people as I'm aware situations can be very different and a hot flat with no garden is worse than a hot field, but be very mindful of what your particular dog is able to tolerate. (Picture of our sun baby who's loving it.)
There is shade, please maximise it, and water, please throw it over your dog. Don't let them run or chase.
Take care guys x
Hi folks,
I've just extended the opening hours again now it's getting lighter. Last booking is now 7-8pm so you can maximise the evening.
Thanks!
Hi folks, I have filled in the worst holes going through the middle of the field so it should be a bit safer for running. Please don't let your dogs dig it all up straight away! I'm getting more soil this week so will do the smaller holes soon.
I've left digging opportunities near the tree stump in front of the field shelter but I'm going to fill in the ones behind the shelter as it's going to encourage more mud areas if we're not careful.
Take care and happy walkies!
Zoe x
A bit fresh this morning!
For those with bookings during the middle of the day during the next few hot days please keep your dog in the shade with plenty of water. There will be no charge for short notice cancellation due to extreme heat!
