Surrounding Counties Landscape and Construction
Based in Oxfordshire. Specialising in bespoke garden design and construction.
We are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with your talented students! It was a pleasure to donate the plants from Hampton Court show and spend the day in your horticultural area. Seeing the pupils learn about informal plant design and getting their hands dirty while planting and watering was truly rewarding. We hope the newly designed garden areas bring joy and inspiration to everyone at Fitzwaryn School.
Warm regards, Nathan, Kieran, and Andrew .co.uk also a big shout out to Caleb, Holly and Chloe, thank you for playing a massive part in making this happen!

Given the couples frequent travel and the challenges of maintaining natural lawn, installing artificial turf (Astro turf) is a practical solution.
The existing garden, previously landscaped by a family friend, has been upgraded to meet modern standards with this low-maintenance alternative.
We find in our consultations with clients, people are either very much astroturf lovers or haters! Which one are you?
Our team had the privilege of contributing to an impactful project, and we look forward to participating in similar projects in the future. Giving back to the community is a rewarding experience and we loved every minute.
After receiving a call from a delightful couple who recently relocated from London to Oxfordshire, our team engaged in several consultations. Together we devised a comprehensive plan. The transformation of an unused area into a functional barbecue space was executed seamlessly. This new area now serves as a hub for hosting parties and preparing amazing meals.
A demonstration of how the landscapers/ builders should be leaving your new build gardens!
The clients had a clear vision and we were more than happy to help them achieve it.
Trees and materials chosen by the client.
We love meeting new people and feel extremely grateful to have clients that inspire us as well as being a joy to work for.

Transforming this clients garden into a much easier to manage condition.
Not going to lie, we quite like the wild look! Perhaps on future projects š
The team took time away from their families to help progress their knowledge by attending a course and learning a new skillā¦ā¦ Resin bond!
Here at surrounding counties we are now pleased to offer all things resin to our clients and look forward to sharing projects that choose this material.
The relationships we build with our clients is the one of the most satisfying parts of our work!
We put in the extra work and find we are repaid with friendships like the one we built on this job. It is a wonderful thing to know that as a team we could be welcomed with open arms whenever we knock on this door in the future.
Out with the old and in with the new.
Millboard decking is long lasting, great quality and low maintenance. We can see why itās a favorite for our clients!
recommendations and repeat clients, what more can we wish for?
Grey sandstone patio completed towards the end of last year.
We feel really grateful to do work for people that support not only the business but as individuals too. The owners of this property sponsored us on our Movember challenge and we would like to thank them so much.
Lovely grey sandstone used on this one and the client wanted to seed the garden instead of using turf.
Itās all in the details!
All of which are top quality products supplied by country supplies -
1. Schvelis formed concrete
2. Van de mortals clay pavers
3. London stone planters
4. Oak sleeper with lighting
Things we love about working on new builds
- meeting great people
- we receive a lot of recommendationās via these jobs
- maximising different spaces
We feel it is such a shame that when people buy these houses they are left with the same combination of materials. Hopefully one day the landscape architects working with the large developers are able to use their imagination š
Weāre feeling very grateful to have had a busy start to the 2024, so belated happy new year everyone!
Looking forward to going back to this job in the spring to plant all the beds and see the trees illuminated by the existing lighting.
And thatās a wrap on 2023! Looking forward to finishing off this project in the new year and sharing it with you all. The materials supplied from are the best around.
Thanks for the continued support from our growing community this year, we are so grateful.
From us here at Surrounding Counties, Merry Christmas š
Looking forward to spring already!
Not only for the better weather but to revisit this job and to see the roses along the back fence, fully established beds and what will be beautiful trees planted into the tree pits. š¹ š³
Despite the weather getting harder to work with already this year, you can work through any conditions when you have lovely clients bringing you coffee and homemade cake.
Canāt wait to see the sunshine beaming on the planting and top quality materials used on this job!
Weāre not sure we could ever get bored of Indian sandstone! Especially when the colours shine like they do on this patio.
As a team we all fell in love with these sandstone sets and enjoyed every part of this project! Cake everyday was a highlight, not great for the waist line but excellent for moral š thanks again to another set of wonderful clients.
Transforming this old slippery decking into a simple yet elegant patio. Using one of the nicest limestone products on the market.
Looking forward to revisiting these lovely and funny clients next month to add in a couple of extras.
Wellā¦the mug shots are here! A big apology to our clients this month who have to put up with these faces š¤£

This month the whole team are joining in with a charity we are passionate about as they champion mental health support and su***de prevention.
We feel very lucky to work within a team that support each other and can be relied upon for words of encouragement, a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. Without these bonds between us we wouldnāt be where we are today. The fact we get to work outside each day is an added bonus and benefit to our mental health.
Keep an eye out for our posts over the next few days, we will be sharing links to support and progress reports of some dodgy looking landscapers šØš»
Location, perfect! Clients, perfect! Materials, perfect!
We got this project via recommendation and from the first site visit we were excited. We are now looking forward to seeing what planting design the clients come up with and celebrating with them at their garden party next summer!
This project was for an inspirational family who we loved working with. The homemade pizzas were great too, thank you! ā¤ļø
Fantastic products thanks toā¦ā¦ā¦..
Another enjoyable job using good quality materials on this large decking area.
The enhanced grain is one of our favorites here at surrounding counties
Millboard
Trying our hardest not to let slip on some exciting news we have coming up š³šøš¹š»
Maybe next month weāll spill the beansā¦..
This may just be a picture of a van and tipper to some but for surrounding counties it was a real moment of reflection and motivation for us.
After getting off to a very rocky start with our first tipper which broke down twice on the drive home from collecting it, continuous issues and having to get a whole new engine and it still not working!
So to now having two working vehicles parked together in the sunshine makes us feel very proud and looking forward to our next steps as a business.
As is often the case with new build plots, awkward spaces are left by the property developers. This client had a great sized garden that just wasnāt being used to itās full potential.
We turned that awkward space into a patio area, giving the whole garden new life. The client wanted to go for a sleek and simple look and fed back how pleased they were with the result.
Meet Nathan , Director of SCLC
-One of your most stressful moments-
Just like Kieran said, our 1st tipper was a problem and although stressful itās given us plenty of stories and funny moments over this past year! I can also find it stressful not being able to win every quote, but maybe Iām a little too competitive.
-One of your proudest moments-
For me itās hearing clients speak about the surrounding counties team with pride like they are one of the gang! I am also proud that as a company we have a clear vision for our future. One way or another the goals will keep getting smashed and the dreams bigger!
-Personal goals for the next business year-
My personal goals are to build on my knowledge of business and workmanship and for the business its to expand the SCLC team and our remit. Another goal is for all SCLC employees is to move us one step further forward to financial freedom.
I would also like to say a big thank you to Kieran for jumping in the deep end with me! You are my brother and I will forever be grateful.

Meet Andrew, future operations Director
- One of your most stressful moments -
This role is quite different to my last job so I would say working in different conditions on a daily basis and not yet having the experience to be able to problem solve on the spot.
- One of your proudest moments -
Me taking the massive jump from working for a big company, working nights for the last 11 years to the transition of working for a growing company. Itās the jump I never thought I would make!
- Personal goals for the next business year -
Iād like to develop my understanding of the day to day workings of a ground work and construction company and to be able to have a bigger personal impact on the company.
- Whatās your weapon of choice -
A blunt broom š¤£
Meet Archie, our youngest member of the team
Future CEO
- One of your most stressful moments -
Answering these questions is probably the most stressful thing Iāve done with the company because everything else is just soo much fun and hard work but no stress!
- One of your proudest moments -
Lifting up a 25kg bag of cement by myself!
- Personal goals for the next business year -
Make a Ā£million!
- Whatās your weapon of choice -
The shovel!
Meet Kieran, director of SCLC
- One of your most stressful moments -
Definitely the purchase of our first tipper! From day one it caused nothing but issues, with it breaking down the day we picked it up, right until the day we part exchanged it.
- One of your proudest moments -
One of my proudest moments was first starting the company, if it was not for Nathan I would still be on a site not enjoying my job.
Not only is it brilliant starting a company it is a pleasure to do it with your best mate! This is what makes me really proud, looking at how far we have come.
- Personal goals for the next business year -
A personal goal for me is to become more of an asset to the company by increasing my knowledge and training to benefit the future growth and projects.
