We’re looking for women* students interested in writing a piece on the theme ‘Women* in the Workplace’ - whether that be business, academia, or another industry. You can take any approach you like. The pieces will be published either in Cherwell or Insight.
If you’re interested in this contributing, please pitch your article idea by messaging Jill Cushen and Caitlin MacClay or emailing [email protected] and [email protected] by Monday 20th September.

Reminder that the submission deadline for Insight is the 20th September. Here's some commissions still available:
Final chance to get in print!!

*Do business leaders have ‘an obligation to speak up’?* Paul Polman, former chief executive of consumer goods giant Unilever, said that in recent years too few business leaders in the US "spoke up against things" and bosses must always fight for "basic human rights”. Do you agree that business leaders should speak up on potentially divisive issues? Will this promote unity within their companies and worldwide or is it just performative empathy? https://news.sky.com/story/business-leaders-have-obligation-to-speak-up-ex-unilever-boss-says-amid-ben-jerrys-row-12362274

*Small business favourites* We are looking for a short piece about your favourite local or online small businesses. Does shopping local/small create more unity between consumer and producer? Why or why not?

Message Clara Marks, comment or email [email protected] if you'd like to take one of these commissions.

PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

Whether you have a flare for photography or just love a selfie, we want you to capture what unite means to you.

You can DM us your entries or submit them to [email protected] and we’ll get a committee panel to decide on their favourite. The winner will receive a prize and feature in the upcoming Insight issue.

Today, OxWIB is excited to publish the MT20 edition of INSIGHT, our termly magazine!

This term we decided that 'Vision' would be a fitting theme. You'll notice the emphasis on mentorship, with several highlights from our own mentorship programme - we hope you'll consider taking part! 'Vision' is also important when considering social issues, such as gender and race inequality. We, therefore, have spotlights on Black Lives Matter and breaking the glass ceiling. We thank each and every person who contributed to the articles! We hope that you will enjoy OxWIB's MT20 version of INSIGHT.
