Ryan Jones for VP Student Voice
Hi! This page is a platform for me, Ryan Jones, to post all about my campaign to run for the positio
And the election results are in!
And it is with a heavy heart that I say that i unfornately did not make the cut. But fear not as i have full confidence in the winner, Sarah, will help bring us a better brookes for the future!
My humblest wishes and bests of lucks to the winning candidates - May you be a force for positive change
:)
We got an email from the Union saying that 400 students voted yesterday! That's great news! That brings the current total to 1350 votes, which would have been a total increase of 29.629...% in just one day!
But as we all can guess, the student body is a lot larger then just 1350 - which means that a lot of you are still sitting by and not making your voice heard! Voting is open 24 hours and has been extended all the way to 12pm monday (And is even open all across the weekend too). It only takes a couple minutes to vote if you know who you're voting for, and only a few more per candidate if you need to read all their manifesto's first!
There is no excuse not to make your voice heard, so go Vote!
www.brookesunion.org.uk/vote !
The hectic Student Union voting season is not yet over, but now we have a direct link for you to follow!
Simply click: http://www.brookesunion.org.uk/vote And make your voice heard!
Remember, voting now closes at midday on monday the 8th and it's now open 24/7 - so there is no exuse to miss out!
The timetable has changed!
Due to technical difficulties, voting for the SU elections will be open until Midday on Monday the 8th! It will also now be open 24 hours, and feature a secondary method of voting via google form (link to be provided tomorrow)
Although there will be 2 ways of voting, only one vote will count, and the union will be checking each and every single one by hand - So refrain from any fun business, eh? ;)
Feel free to check out every candidate's manifesto here whilst we wait patiently - https://www.brookesunion.org.uk/elections/choose
Just got this lovely care package through the mail! Was not expecting such a lovely little gesture for the candidates, thank you kindly!
We're still very much so in voting season - So if you haven't done so yet, make sure to make your voice heard! Meanwhile i'm off to go make myself a hot chocolate.... :D
*My campaign and I are in no way endorsed by any of the pictured brands or the Union.
The vote has gone live! (Which I'm sure you've noticed through the sheer amount of posts and me and my compatriots have been making or will be making today)
I urge you to make your voice heard by voting, even if you feel apathetic towards everything - if it's true that you feel no candidates deserve your vote, even make that known by voting RON(Reopen Nominations).
It is the voting that matters, and though I would love for you to vote for me specifically, I would also just appreciate you just voting for all positions in general.
Make your voice heard
Bring more empathy
:)
Been a hot second since I last posted - But don't worry, I'm still alive and kicking!
Voting opens up tomorrow on the 1st and will stay open until the 4th. That's Monday until Thursday, so make sure you get to voting and make your Voice heard!
Ryan Jones for VP Student Voice Hi! This page is a platform for me, Ryan Jones, to post all about my campaign to run for the position of VP Student voice of the Oxford Brookes Union
Just got out of our general meeting/hustings/question time! Was a truely nervewracking experience and i hope i managed to get my points across as well as my other fellow candidates!
The meeting was recorded and, as far as i am aware, will be posted up for public viewing - So make sure to check it out to see if some of your concerns get answered!
If you have a different question, or perhaps more clarification on a question that i answered, do not hesitate to get in contact with me!๐
And yet another in quick succession - Big thanks to The Guild for offically endorsing my campaign as well!
Please check out this lovely society here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/obsutheguild
A big thank you to Japanese Society for endorsing my campaign!

Another wonderful society comes in to show their support - Thank you Rock Soc!
Check out this lovely society here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/OfficialBrookesRockSociety
(Although they mainly operate on discord)
2 wonderful societies have confirmed their endorsement for me so far, and i have something special in mind to celebrate their support...
If you represent a society, and would love to endorse my campaign for VP Student Voice, feel free to send me a message!
Got informed of a funny spelling mistake in my manifesto - Ironic, considering the position i'm running for.
Here's my updated short manifesto, however i'll leave my unedited one up incase anyone wants to hunt through and have a bit of a laugh at my expense
:)
Society endorsements are starting to be confirmed, and i am proud to say that i have managed to get a few on my side!
I'll be putting up a message soon to signpost which lovely people have agreed to endorse me thus far, and then will continue to do so as new societies do so as well
A hint of what is to come...
And with this, my campaign to run for VP Student Voice begins in earnest!... And so begins what could quite possible be The Most stressful period of my life
I can't wait for all of the shenanigans to come.
:)
Check out my shortened manifesto! Get's across what i'm all about in just over half as many words!
