MBE Award for Dr Gian Gopal Oxford Hindu Temple and Community Centre Project (OHTCCP) welcomes the announcement of an MBE Award for our Founding Chairman, Dr Gian Gopal. Dr Gopal’s award of a Member of the Order of the British Empire for services to the Hindu Community and Inter-faith Cohesion was announced in the King’s New Year’s Honours List. Commenting on the award, Chairman of OHTCCP Mukesh Shori said: “The vision of a Hindu Temple in Oxfordshire began over 15 years ago with a small group of dedicated individuals led by Dr Gopal. This year, that vision will be realised when we launch Oxfordshire’s first Hindu Temple and Community Centre in Marston. Hindus in this county will always be grateful for Dr Gopal’s unwavering commitment and dedication to the Hindu Community. The Hindu community has always been keen on establishing closer relationships with other faiths. That is why we are delighted to see Dr Gopal's excellent role in promoting inter-faith cohesion in Oxfordshire also being recognized with this award.
