And last but certainly not least we have our basses!
Auggie, Wally and Luke are tasked with the lowest voice part in the Alternotives and are particularly skilful at keeping the tempo steady and grounding some lovely chords. Be sure to catch solos from Wally and Luke in our concert this week, and hear the debut of Auggie’s wonderful arrangement of Mr Blue Sky!
(Featuring Auggie’s handiwork with photoshop in the final slide, as Luke, predictably, was at hockey for the photoshoot!)

This excellent voice part is performed by Henry and Matt! This talented pair are also keen soloists so be sure to catch them (and their jazzy dance moves) in our performances of ‘Dancing in the moonlight’ and some Christmas hits in our concert this week!

For our next introduction we have the Tenors!
Gianni and Mathieu masterfully take on the highest part of our lower voices, forming some gorgeous harmonies and also taking on some excellent solos. Gianni is also a keen arranger, so be sure to catch his amazing version of ‘When the party’s over’ by Billie Eilish in our Christmas concert this week!

Next up we have our Altos!
Our excellent Alto 1s are Amelia (rumour goes that she has perfect pitch…) and Ariana (fantastic gig securer), and our fabulous Alto 2s are Amy (also very efficient Social Sec) and Grace (whose favourite drink is Baileys- don’t ask). These lovely gals are excellent at mastering those tricky harmonies and definitely bring the sass to our big numbers!

Anddd the long-awaited first group introduction is finally here: it’s the Sops!

The lovely Hattie (our Music Director), Rose and Katie (depending on the song!) are our Sop 1s- with the unenviable task of hitting a top B for the last note of Dancing in the Moonlight…

Audition sign ups are now OPEN for the 2023-24 Oxford Alternotives 🎤

We are looking for talented singers from ALL musical backgrounds to join Oxford’s friendliest and most vibey acapella group. We sing a range of music, regularly performing at pub nights, balls and concerts around Oxford. This year, we plan to make a triumphant return to the Edinburgh Fringe and debut our new album, and we need YOU to join us! 💃🕺

🎶 We have openings for all voice parts and Beatboxers 🎶

⭐️ Auditions will take place on the 7th-8th October (Sat-Sun)

We might be far from Ox, but we still love our Altos just as much as in term time, and we hope you have too after witnessing their smiles & many talents this year!!💫💫💫 Namely, our resident Canadian Taylor (she’s NOT American), our iconic belting queen Rebz, the joy that is Maya, and our wonderful newest addition Millie (check out her fab solo stuff as well)! The Alts would be nothing without them tbh. (A special shoutout to the lovely .hallx is also due for all her gorgeous singing for us earlier this year❤️)

Next up to take their final bow are our brilliant tenors!!!🫶🫶🫶

You might recognise some seasoned Alts members here, like Gianni (one of our presidential trifecta and probs the coolest person ever) and Desson (who may have attempted to defect but we don’t talk about that xx). Izzy sometimes takes a break from Rough Edge and being a drag LEGEND to join our ranks😈
