Itโ€™s a new month today โœจ๏ธ

I think Iโ€™ve said this every month for a long time.

New month = same goals.

We had a consultation in at one point last week, it was amazing to hear this person talk about what they want to achieve in the next year or so.

It was someone with intentions of putting themselves first. ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ

Not forgetting about themselves and making sure they donโ€™t let their health slide.

Training is a gift.

Being active is a gift.

Life is a gift.

If you donโ€™t have your health, you have nothing.

For everyone in here thatโ€™s been training, looking after their health and trying to improve their life, you are buying a better quality of life. โœจ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช

Fat loss is great. Before and afters are great.

But these all start with the basics.

Sessions. Good food. Sleep. Steps. Water.

Repeat.

Yesterday I talked about the benefits of lifting weights.

I talked about investing in your health.

Use exercise as a method to get stronger.

Yes, youโ€™ll need to enjoy it to stay at it.

But lifting weights has such a crossover to everyday life that in my opinion, everyone SHOULD be doing it.

Sitting and standing up from a chair is like squatting, carry shopping bags, picking up children, climbing stairs, these are all everyday activities that we all do that require strength.

Not only that but building bone health is crucial as we all start to age, falling and breaking bones is a big risk for anyone thatโ€™s in their 50s and older.

Do not underestimate the effort required to be consistent at going to the gym.

Itโ€™s not easy.

But looking after your health is the number one investment that you can have in yourself.

Hereโ€™s some hints and tips if you are getting back from Xmas and New Yearโ€ฆ.

1. Start slowly

- Ease back into your training routine. Go lighter, take more rest, and take your time.

2. Set realistic goals

- Give yourself attainable weekly goals like making 2-3 sessions. This will rebuild motivation and is easy enough to do.

3. Find a workout buddy ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ

- Partnering up can provide accountability and motivation to stick with it. โœจ๏ธ๐Ÿ’›

4. Listen to your body โœจ๏ธ

- Youโ€™ve not messed up because you had wine and chocolate at 10am for 14 days straight. But respect your limits and avoid overexertion that could lead to injury. Donโ€™t go crazy.

5. Celebrate progress: Recognise and appreciate small achievements along the way.

What a great start to the New Year everyone!๐Ÿฅณ

Itโ€™s been cold this week and itโ€™s fantastic to see so many people making your sessions.๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‹โ€โ™‚๏ธ

The cold ๐ŸงŠ๐Ÿฅถ weatherย or lack of motivation can keep you from working out, Itโ€™s a lot harder to stay motivated and workout consistently during the holidays and winter months. We all get stuck sometimes whether itโ€™s from a fitness rut or just feeling unmotivated.

Remember that everyone is at different stages and perhaps the first few months of the year are for setting you up for the rest of 2024.

What ever stage you are at there will be loads of people in the same boat.

All we want to do is help and get you all In the gym, in a safe environment and feeling fantastic in your session and your life.

Here at KCPT the team we preach consistency.

Doing something once, or for a few weeks, or missing every 2nd session is unlikely going to help you achieve your health and fitness goals.

So many times I see people hit one roadblock and then quit what they started.

Usually this is because there is no structure, unrealistic goals or simply not enough effort.

When I say that it sounds harsh but effort is a big factor in improving your health.

There will be times you don't want to do it - effort required

There will time that you feel tired - effort required

There will be times that you want to give up - effort required

The more effort you put in the more you will start to see some changes.

You will notice that your body is starting to move better, feel better and you will hopefully start to recognise that all the effort you are putting in is worth it.

This effort put in consistently is where you can start to head towards your original goals

But it absolutely is not easy.

It's very difficult in fact.

That's where we come in. We are here to help and support you along the way.

When times are tough - reach out.

When you want to quit - ask a question

But most importantly whatever your goals are - keep going.

Been struggling with an injury and the rollercoaster of life ๐Ÿ˜ช

Not been prioritising my own physical well-being, and I have not had the energy or enthusiasm to train, my mental health took a dip due to menopausal symptoms and my anziety has been off the scale ๐Ÿ˜ข
