With the fine weather last week my new firm had us start our first exterior of the year.
Currently working in Dover on this large project.
As you can see we made good progress last week, hope the weather improves soon so we can crack on.
Paints used- Dulux Weathershield Brilliant White

The wife asked if I could give the spare room a freshen up.
That was in December.
It got finished this week and new carpet laid.
FYI, it took Michelangelo over four years to paint the ceiling of the Sistine chapel 👍🏻😂

(Colour is Farrow & Ball Studio Green)

As this year draws to a close I’d like to thank all of my customers, family, and friends that have supported me this year.

I’ve been lucky enough to bring into effect some stunning ideas in some beautiful homes. It’s because of you I love what I do.

Wishing you a joyous festive period with loved ones, and I look forward to working with customers old, and new in 2022.

Daring and bold colour scheme chose by the customer. Soft white on picture rail and above, Farrow & Ball Railings on everything below. Really adds grandeur to the original features in this beautiful Victorian bedroom.
Loved this job.

Sneak peak of progress on a current job. Bold colour choice by the customer. On the left is the old colour, on the right is the colour the whole room is going.
Looking striking already 👍🏻

Nice to finish this one.
Paper and polystyrene ceiling tiles stripped. Radiator taken off then ceiling and walls plastered.
New architrave fixed around door then brought to a finish with Dulux Chic Shadow on walls and Johnstone's aqua system on woodwork. 👍🏻

New week, new job.
Sometimes more than a bit of filler is required.
Polystyrene ceiling tiles removed, wallpaper stripped, artex wall scrapped back. All ready for final primer then full plaster.

Final pics of a job finished last week.
Unconventional job this one in that the ceiling wasn’t painted the usual white, but a fresco plaster colour called ‘Pudding’ by COAT paints. Finished with an I Love Wallpaper feature mural.
All made for a lovely warm feeling bedroom.

Products for a new job I started today.
Climate mindful customer chose COAT paints, a carbon neutral offset company. Not only that, they’ll take any paint back you don’t use and give a partial refund.

That’s green thinking 👍🏻 💚 🌳 🌍

Final exterior of the year complete.
Here’s a sneak peak until the scaffold comes down and full pictures are taken.
Loved this job 👌🏻

Last exterior job of the year underway and she’s a beauty.

I can think of worse views to have working a Bank Holiday.

After two weeks off with covid, it was nice to be back and paper this bedroom.
Fresh new ceiling. All woodwork renewed and finished in water based gloss.
Walls filled and lined then Art House finished paper hung.

The view at today’s office.
Stunning day for it ☀️

Football might not be coming home for England this time, but it has for me.
Proud to announce I will soon be involved in the undertaking of decorating works for the mighty Argyle. 💚

Day late for feature wall Friday.

Installed this Black Edition Flock paper this morning to finish off a bedroom and dressing room in a beautiful Georgian farmhouse.

So the customer liked the paper that much I get a message this morning saying;

“We’ve bought an extra roll and we’d really like the chimney breast papered also. Could you fit us in?”

Well it is Feature wall Friday.

A good decision I think.

Lovely bold and stylish feature wall today using MucknBrass paper.

Yes they’re flamingoes with women’s legs. 🦩

Until February of this year I had the opportunity for six months to work on a project that probably only comes along once in a lifetime.
Subcontracting to SC Paint Specialists I was fortunate enough to be part of the £60 million pound conversion of Bodmin Jail into a boutique hotel.

A stunning (but spooky) job done by all.

Today Cornwall Live entered the Hotel for a first look.

Lovely view on this weeks job.
Perfect place to stop and have a cuppa ☕️

I love this city 💚

After being rained off last week it was nice to finish this outside by applying a black bituminous plinth and general touch ups this morning.
Another nice collaboration with Southwest Home Solutions

It’s that spring clean time again 👍🏻

So I had a memory pop up this morning saying it was Easter bank holiday weekend last year that I started the job of decorating my own bedroom, (A busmans’ holiday for any decorator, yes it’s true!) and it dawned on me. I’ve never shared any pictures of the progress, or of the finished job.

Working on your own home is always a labour of love and I’d like to think I take the same care and attention to detail into all my customers homes.
Finally I’d like to thank my (extremely) patient wife.
We got there eventually 😂

Beautiful day in the sunshine today, coming to the end of the first outside of the year. Here’s a little peek. She was looking a bit tired when we arrived.
Have a great Easter facesnazzers 🐣 👍🏻

Bit of bank holiday DIY she said.
Just strip the paper and paint it she said. 🤦🏼‍♂️

So currently I’m forced into lockdown as my site shut on Monday. That can only mean one thing. Doing all the jobs I promised my beautiful better half I’d do.
Started the master bedroom today only to get quite a surprise while stripping paper. Now I’m all for creativity but ‘the 1970’s called, they want their psychedelic, L*D induced mural back’.

11/03/2020

After a lot of scraping and sanding with various grades of sandpaper she’s finally receiving the first of around four to six coats of danish oil bringing this beautiful old piece of timber back to life.
