I am now self employed for 20 years working in the local area fitting kitchens, bathrooms for Wickes as well as many other companies and private clients.
Other areas of expertise are in sub-contracting for larger organisations.
One recent contract was to refurbish 80 houses in Southampton which included fitting new kitchens and doors. References are available upon request.

Not my post but everyone should remember this!
Please remember this when you see your self employed friends or family who don’t always seem themselves.
“The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business”
Running a business is extremely hard.
What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid back people.
People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.
People expect you to be available 24/7 and at the drop of a hat because “you work for yourself so you can make time” unfortunately this is not the case most of the time.
Friends and family will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.
You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.
Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend... it’s one of the hardest things you will try and balance ever.
There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.
Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient, support small businesses…….and hopefully more of us will stick around!
2023 - supporting small business ❤️

(As 1 person said up here , one young child only thought chips came from bags in the freezer!!!) .
So building a community garden for them to educate and teach the next generations where food comes from and will be supplying food boxes for the community.
Also, to build a "blokes shed " for the older generations who were miner's and pottery workers and have lost all the working mens clubs, etc, and have nowhere to go now .so thos is somewhere they can meet and get involved with projects. 😊💪
This has been my 4th DIY SOS build.
And it has been an amazing experience once again.
I have had the pleasure of meeting some outstanding people over this last week who I will not forget and hope to see again if I do another DIY SOS project.
A big thanks to the carpentry team I have worked with all week getting the kitchen fitted and the guys building the rest of the house.
And also to Olly and Andy, the painters who have made me laugh on a daily basis.
I hope the family love their new home and are now able to be happy knowing that Shaun’s dream of having the family home finished has been achieved.
Another great cause and family was added to the big SOS family❤
